This crap must follow Dusty around.

Griffey was upset that Brantley criticized his defense. Griffey apparently made a "throat slashing" jesture towards the booth while crossing home plate after hitting a HR.

HOUSTON – Ken Griffey Jr. and Jeff Brantley spoke.

So is everything good between them?

“No,” Brantley said. “How can it be when someone gives you a death signal from the dugout?”

Said Griffey: “I’m not going to talk about it.”

Griffey made the gesture after hitting a home run in Saturday’s game. He ran his finger along his throat.

“You can’t do that in the NFL or the NBA,” Brantley said.

Griffey was upset about Brantley saying Griffey has been pouting because the Reds have not pick up his option for the next year.

Brantley denied saying that.

“The only thing I said is the ball in right field should have been caught,” Brantley said.

A fly ball fell in front of Griffey in the first inning of Saturday’s game.

Brantley – and all broadcasters – have been asked to stay out of the players lounge and dining room.

Good to see Brantley is making friends. First, Marty Brennaman storms out of the booth and now Griffey.

Honestly, listening to a Reds radio broadcast is nearly as painful as a White Sox television broadcast these days. Brantley and Brenneman (Sr. or Jr., doesn't really matter) are just terrible.

If Griffey did in fact make a throat slitting gesture after the HR, Selig has to step in and hit Griffey hard. Brantley is correct in saying that if it was the NBA or the NFL there would be zero tolerance.

I'd be more inclined to agree here had he made the gesture to the pitcher or the opposing team. Since it's his own team's broadcaster, let the team deal with it. The team could give him a fine and be done with it.

Exactly. They should cut off KGJr's head.

There is a pattern forming here with Baker's teams. Why would you even let your players watch the broadcast, much less react to what announcers are saying about you? Grow up

Funny thing is how Dusty has two of the same biggest whiners on this team(Mercker and Patterson) as he had on the Cubs.

Yeah who could forget Corey Patterson's legendary feuds with umps, teammates, and broadcasters.

That booth is unbelievable.

And watching one of Dusty's teams devolve into chaos from afar is sooooo much more fun.

I don't remember those, but Patterson always cracked me up with that big windmill swing of his always whining in the papers about the fans booing him. He wasn't was as bad as Mercker and Hawkins though.

brantley is just a dumb redneck who should not be analyzing baseball games for anybody.

so even a dumb redneck can realize that Griffey is terrible in the field

Did he have any problems with the announcers in San Fran?

I'm willing to bet good money that the threat slashing motion has been done hundreds of times in the NFL. I can't prove it, but come on... a sport where some players main goals in the game is to inflict as much pain on someone as possible, and they taunt and talk smack all game, you're telling me a throat slash gesture has NEVER happened and if it did they'd get fined for it? Please. The day that happens is the day the police start arresting linebackers for assault and battery whenever they record a sack

I didn't really pay attention to Dusty when he was there. That said, i can just imagine Dusty going back to the clubhouse to take a leak between innings then coming back and telling someone "guess what the guy on TV just said about you". He's the classic "parent who wants to be best friends with his kids".

in a BBTN segment the analysts were asked who they would start a baseball team with, and I think one said Pujols, another said Arod and Brantley said...Papelbon

you haven't experienced hell until you've listened to jeff brantley give the pbp on the radio in his slow, dim-witted southern drawl. it's horrible. joe nuxhall's corpse would still do a better job.
