Funny that none of these trades will help any of you beat me!

Well, it helps take away one competitor from me reaching the finals, which helps me beat you!

I thought the deal I offered for Braun was a better deal to help our Fuzzy for this year. Though, admittedly, I was not giving up any exempt players like Gordon. I thought I had a good deal for King Felix too, which I was going to use to try to turn him into Braun.

I believe Justin tried that angle, and it didn't work out for him.. but I don't know what you'd have offered with Felix.

I made a pretty big offer for King Felix about a week ago. Luckily, it wasn't accepted, because I didn't realize Felix is out of exemptions.

I'm not really sure why anyone is having such a cow about this being a lopsided trade. Gordon is obviously not the player Braun is, but Braun won't be 3b eligible after this season, so he's an outfielder. I don't really want to go into the next season with no options at 1b or 3b like I basically have every season I've been in this league.

Oswalt is as good as anyone else in the league (except Peavy and Santana) when he's healthy.

Oh crap.. haha! I didn't realize that! Oh well! Gonna have to get a 3b for next year I guess.. I'll worry about that later.

Well, I offered a pitcher who has more points than Felix, and it was declined, because he wasn't a true stud and I had a pretty good bat in the deal also. Then he accepts a deal for Oswalt, and a lesser (albeit keeper) bat. Again, I think the deal I offered was better. But it doesn't matter what I think. I don't have to accept or decline my offer. I don't see any reason to get upset over the deal either. As I don't think anyone here is in the business of helping somebody else win the league, even if it is just to spite the 3-time champ.....especially someone in the hunt himself.

I would agree with that..

Yeah, that's not true. Zambrano, Webb, Halladay, Sabathia, and Haren are better. And if you're using the "if healthy" prerequisite, Hamels, Lackey, Carmona, Beckett, Kazmir, Cain, Lincecum, Sheets, and Harden are probably all better too.

Which is why I was willing to trade him also. I don't remember what I got but I remember thinking later it was a silly move on my part. I think Braun is just not likeable.

I just broke this down from the start of the year... Seems to me I've traded:

Major leaguers:

Oswalt

Gordon

Weaver

Cordero

O. Hudson

Nady

Bay

AJ B.

Hafner

Minor Leaguers:

Cardenas

Davis

Lars Anderson

Adenhart

C. Marrero

Tillman

For:

Cano

Morneau

Kazmir

K-Rod

Braun

Gallagher

It's just funny when you look at it that way.. Seems like a ton to give up for only 6 players. This was by far my busiest season ever when it comes to trading. Glad I had the minor leaguers to be able to do it, but that totally diminished my system over the course of the year. Hopefully it pans out for me. Who knows, there may be one more in the works... :)

I have two more trades I'm hoping go through. But even if they don't, I'm happy with the team I've got right now.

'05: 2.95 ERA/1.21 WHIP/ 144 ERA+

'06: 2.98 ERA/1.16 WHIP/ 149 ERA+

'07: 3.18 ERA/1.32 WHIP/ 138 ERA+

Career: 3.20 ERA/1.21 WHIP/ 139 ERA+

Granted, he's been off this year, but with his career numbers, there's no reason to believe he can't get back to those numbers. I think that's better than several of the pitchers you listed. I guess I value Oswalt more than others.

Realistically, the trade was Ryan Braun for Alex Gordon and Roy Oswalt. I only included Gallagher because he was the odd man out with the roster crunch. Since it really didn't matter to me whether I dropped him or included him in the trade, I made nice and included him.

I'd also be pretty happy with my team if my remaining trade doesn't go through. But I sure would like to add one more piece!

You got Tillman and a 2nd round draft pick.

I thought he was referring to Braun. Braun, Carlos Gonzalez and Brian Barton for Matt Cain, Joe Crede, Conor Jackson and Andy LaRoche
