Team: Coming into 7/21

Away: .257/.327/.395

Home: .305/.387/.491

Here are some individuals who have some notable splits in this area:

Ramirez

Away: .218/.263/.391

Home: .338/.478/.613

Fukudome

Away: .213/.311/.303

Home: .348/.450/.522

Soriano

Away: .231/.280/.435

Home: ..337/.386/.663

DeRosa

Away: .236/.312/.424

Home: .327/.430/.471

Edmonds

Away: .277/.372/.567

Home: .298/.406/.789

Edmonds has been awesome in all situations, I just wanted to list him to note that home SLG. Unbelieveable. The splits are remarkable in my opinion. I really have no answer fr hem. It basically just drives home the idea that they better keep winning virtually all their home games.

i still really read this as a good time to play "what is more likely," but maybe we're nearing the point where we should have meph do an article on this subject or something.

These are drastic fluctuations. They should not be this horrid on the road, no way. IMO they just don't focus on the road as much as they do at home.

I really think Soriano being out the last month and a half has now finally caught up to everyone. Once he returns, guys will be more relaxed and I think you'll see the team go on a tear.

Do I sound like a cliche Cubs fan when I blame it on the night games and the fact that the Cubs aren't used to them.

They seemed to do pretty good during the day game Sunday

Has anyone seen an entire team with such wild home/road splits? I'm seriosuly asking.

outside of teh Rockies?

Since Boston is having the same problem right now, I might think they are having some similar problems.

Prior to this year, I think you may be on to something. However, during the week, even at Wrigley...the format is two night games followed by a day game.

If the Cubs don't get their collective heads out of their asses on the road - there won't be any playoffs. I can somewhat accept losing to a washed-up Randy Johnson but, two of three to the Assblows - no?

I'd rather them play out of their minds at home and underachieve on the road (with flashes of greatness here and there), which gives them a good chance at making the playoffs as one of the best teams in the majors thanks to their ridiculous home record, rather than be consistently average in relation to their career norms on both the road and at home and be a moderately good NL team that may or may not make the wild card

As long as people don't start to normalize one of the splits without normalizing the other, it really doesn't matter.
