It's on Eastern Division! Let's go! Picked up Cain, Peavy, and Kazmir! It's gonna be a dogfight from here on out!

The real fun thing about it is that we all play each other in the last 5 weeks... Hopefully liriano comes on strong and stays uninjured in the last 5 weeks.

Fixed.

i think i could have beaten that offer had i known kazmir was available.

Just curious what you'd have offered? Davis is going to be a super stud. I made the offer today, Matt called and really liked it because of Davis...

eh, if he's as high on davis as you apparently are, then he probably would have preferred what you gave him. i would have given him something similar to what i gave juan for peavy...probably would have made danks the main part. i guess i'm not that big on davis.

Understandable... He said he was looking for an exempt pitcher for next year and a prospect that had the potential to be a huge bat. What's not to like about Davis' 30+ home runs thus far this year and his over .300 BA?

Texas got rid of Tiex with plans for Davis to come in and take over his big bat in the lineup...

At least he had the conversation with you about Kazmir. I've asked 10 times and he was "untouchable."

I got the same response until I threw Davis out there.. He didn't like my other offers.

Acquired JD Drew, put him in the lineup as a U and cut 1B/U Mike Jacobs.

A lot of trades happened while I was gone. Everyone is beefing up while I'm sitting idle.

Anyone out of the hunt and looking to trade, I'm all ears. I have lots of young talent to spare.

Get with me after this weekend or next week. If I can't make one of the big moves I'm working on I may consider selling.

how the hell does raw get both carpenter and broxton on waivers? does that mean no one else put in a claim on broxton (because i put in a claim on carpenter)?

I'm still trying to figure out why Carpenter was even cut loose at this point.

Seemed like a pretty valuable keeper for next year to me. That's what I'm kind of hoping to get from Kelvim Escobar and Vernon Wells, actually.

I would have traded some talent for him.

Yeah, Carpenter will have so few points this year he'd almost be like an exempt player.

Added K-Rod and Kazmir this week... Nice!! If I can't add a 3b by the end of the week (Don't know how much I care to really because I think next year is Gordon's breakout year) then I'm done and my team is set for the rest of the season. Gotta say that I like my chances!

Yeah, that's exactly what that means. Carpenter was my higher priority. Figured I'd rather have more into the starter and I could pass on the reliever if needed.

My DL is full as is 2/3 of my bench. I wanted to put in a claim, but didn't.

Unless I really get floored with an offer between now and the trading deadline I'm probably done making trades for now. I've given my team quite an extreme makeover the past week or so. I may go back the other way some during the postseason trading period leading up to the keeper deadline. I've shedded quite a few points, so I may be in a position to take on points from a team needing to get rid of points to get under the limit.

well, to answer the carpenter question, I don't have enough room to keep him so I was going to cut him loose at the end of the year either way. I needed a roster spot so he had to go. I guess I could have tried to trade him but I couldn't imagine anyone giving up much for him.

While I couldn't afford to give up one of my active major leaguers, I would have offered up a quality minor leaguer or a draft pick for him if I knew he was available. It would have been well worth the gamble if he even remotely resembled what he once was.

I don't know how he's considered the hottest team, when I've won 8 of the last 9 weeks and the only one I lost, I did so while scoring 333 pts! Definitely someone else to watch out for though!

I wish I had known that! I think the chances of him ever being effective again are pretty low but I would have gladly taken a draft pick.
