After watching both versions recently, and both are fresh in my mind, Im going to go with Jack. Granted, when I first heard about Heath playing the Joker, I thought it to be the biggest mis cast in history, but he did prove me wrong. He did quite a job as a darker Joker, but Jack is just the master.

I'm pretty torn because both Jack and Heath were really good and for my reasons I will have to use the spoiler since some stuff I mention could reveal some things about the new movie.

I thought they were both good but had a different way of portraying Joker. I think overall I would have to go with Heath because he seemed to play the better portrayal in regards to how Joker is in the comics and cartoon of the early 90's. He's a complete lunatic and knows it which is what makes him unique. He's crazy (just don't call the Heath version that) but he's also just about as smart as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Heath I think did a better job of playing the crazy guy who is smart as hell. Jack's is just your typical mobster who is crazier than most mobsters. Now the thing is is a lot of it has to with the writing. The new one had a better script for Joker. The old one like I said before made him member of the mob who finally lost it because of being knocked into chemicals. Heath's version is a regular guy. The writing of the 'magic trick pencil scene' early in the film was just phenomenal. It was funny but really showed Joker's psychy that he will kill with no regard but also the killing serves a purpose (marked his territory so to speak) but he killed the guy in that way because it would be funny. If I had to pick an actor who could do a the best Joker without regard to the writing its obviously Jack.

Agreed.

I liked the anarchy/anti-christ version of the Joker played by Heath, better then the typically mobster gone even crazier? Heath's Joker had a more dangerous feel to him, then Jack's Joker.

Heath seemed like more of a psychopath and a petty thug, however, Jack seemed to be more of a cartoonish criminal. Heath didnt have anyhing like neuro toxins or whatever at his disposal. However, Heaths seemed like someone who could potentially exist

I haven't seen the Jack performance in a while, but I remember him basically just playing himself with makeup on. Maybe it's one of those perfect roles for Jack to play himself in, but it didn't strike me as that different than anything else he's done

I wanted to go with Cesar Romero simply because he was the original, but Ledger did the best job.

I liked Jack's version of the Joker and, in a sense, they are almost too different to compare. But Ledger's was more true to the comics, while Jack's was closer to the old TV series.

The only one that would compete with Ledger would be Hamill. Jack's version was just Jack. I don't think he actually brought anything unique to the character. And honestly the whole Tim Burton version has really aged.

It definitely has aged. When I watched TDK I couldn't wait until the Joker was on screen again it was that good, then I went home and watched the 1989 version of Batman and honestly, I couldn't finish it and I used to think it was a great movie but Batman Begins and The Dark Knight have blown it away in my opinion.

Mark Hamill.

Add him to the poll, dammit.

No  .........Hamil's Joker is too similar to his Goblin (either Green or Hob) character from the Spider Man cartoon series from the 90s.

Who the hell wached that?

I do. Besides I have 7 yr old nephew is OBSESSED with Spider Man. Besides, it was decent cartoon.
