We better not see Marmol in the 9th. Use one of the other 35 pitchers we have in the bullpen.

I'm almost positive we will see either Marmol, Wood or Howry in this game. Our middle relief in games with large leads has been amazingly bad it seems like.

How would you know? I documented it the other day that Wuertz and Lieber hadn't pitched with a lead in over a month.

He definitely should go to Lieber or Marshall for the ninth. That being said, keeping in Howry or bringing in Marmol wouldn't surprise me.

I like Marmol here. The way he has been craptastic lately I think it is a good spot to put him in to end a game where you still have a bit of a cushion so if he gives up 4 runs with no hits again we can still get the W.

Well I guess Lou figures Dempster is going to go complete game shutout tomorrow and won't have to use any relievers tomorrow.

Every reliever should be available tomorrow anyway. Howry will be the only one who pitched 2 consecutive days.

what did Hill do today?

5IP no runs, had rough first inning but after that his line looked like he was dominating.

I'd rather not kill Marmols arm though.

Last year he pitched in 59 games and 69.1 innings.

This year he has already pitched in 48 games and 51.1 innings.

Was Harden in trouble when he was pulled, or did he just reach a max pitch count?

A little of both. He allowed the first 2 batters to reach base, then Lou stuck with him for the next batter. Harden struck him out and Lou pulled him at the 96 pitch mark to a standing ovation.
