Brewers run themselves into a DP on a groundout to the pitcher.

Pickled the runner between 3rd & home, and batter thrown out at 2nd trying to advance. End of inning, but enough damage done.

2-0 Brewers, mid-2

Just to give you perspective on how bad the NL West is, last year the NL Central with 6 teams went a combined 54 games under .500 for the season.

This year, just over halfway through, the NL West with only 5 teams is 53 games under .500.

And on the other side of the coin, remember how the NL Central race last year was better termed "Survival of the Best of the Worst"?

Its an actual division race this year (currently). Cubs have the best record in the NL, but are in one of the closest and most heated divsional battle in their own league, and the Majors.

Its been stated before, but both the Cards and Brewers would be the divisional leaders ,currently, if in either of the East or West NL divisions right now. StL (2.5 in East on Philly & 6.5 in West on 'Zona) and MIL (0.5 in East on Philly & 4.5 in West on 'Zona).

For more NL West ineptness talk...

Of the 11 non-divisional teams, only the Nats and Reds have -.500 records vs the West; 2-8 and 7-11, respectively. All 9 other teams are above .500 vs the NL West.

The NL West is TERRIBLE!

If the score holds, there will not an above-.500 team in the West after today's games. That is pathetic.

They are all already under .500

To think some were calling the West the toughest division in baseball before the season.

And how bad are the D-Backs? It's hard to believe that is the same team we saw in April/early May. Pathetic.
