Hung-Wen Chen was promoted to Daytona over the weekend.

LHP Chris Siegfried (1-6, 7.10 ERA) will be starting for Peoria today.

You just couldn't keep that to yourself, could you?

To my defense, I can't properly load the Peoria Chiefs website this morning for some reason.

To my defense, I can't properly load the Peoria Chiefs website this morning for some reason. I'm sure the correct starter is on there.

It is. But you should already have known Chen was up to Daytona (and Muyco and Rundle are back in Peoria). [-X

I don't know if tis is anywhere But it says Rhee is going to disabled list: http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?cat=2

Ugh, it's on the Chiefs web site too. Elbow pain isn't good.

Current Chiefs ace Dae-Eun Rhee is headed to the disabled list for the second time this season after feeling right elbow pain during his three-inning stint on Sunday.

RHPs Jose Pina and 2008 draftees Jay Jackson join Peoria. Also, RHP Blake Parker goes from Iowa to Daytona.

Is TJS in his near future? It seems to be sort of a right of passage these days.

I wonder why Larry Suarez and Chris Carpenter haven't pitched yet in the AZL.

Suarez is out for the season after having TJS in April.

I forgot about that and got confused when i saw his name on the roster.

Rather than talk about the biggest international bonus babies the Cubs have signed the past two seasons being on the mend, let me post the final first half stats in the MLB Australian Academy:

SS Hak-Ju Lee: 4/14, 1 2B, 1 3B, 3 BB, 1 K, .286/.444/.500, 4/5 SB, 3 E

OF Sean Williams: 13/45, 3 2B, 1 3B, 5 BB, 10 K, .289/.373/.400, 5/7 SB, 1 E

LHP Cody Hams: 10.2 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 14 K/12 BB, .205 BAA, 4.22 ERA

RHP Ryan Searle: 25.2 IP, 18 H, 6 ER, 31 K/7 BB, .182 BAA, 2.10 ERA

RHP Adam Spencer: 19 IP, 13 H, 6 ER, 18 K/6 BB, .194 BAA, 2.84 ERA

Obviously the competition at the MLBAAP isn't great, but I'll take that from a bunch of teenagers (most of whom haven't played at a level as advanced as the MLBAAP before).

Tyler Colvin becomes the second straight Tennessee hitter to win Player of the Week honors (following Jake Fox):

Southern League

Tyler Colvin, Tennessee

.385 (10-26), 5 R, 1 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 1 BB, 3 SO, 0 SB, .807 SLG

Colvin has had a somewhat disappointing season to this point, batting .230 or below through the majority of the first three months, but is finally hinting at how good he can be. On the tails of a six-game hitting streak that's raised his average from .227 to .240, the left-handed center fielder compiled two two-hit games and a three-hit game last week. All of Tennessee's games were against West Tenn, who had to be happy to see Colvin and his team leave town. The Smokies went 5-1 against the Diamond Jaxx on the road trip, and Colvin's two homers and eight RBIs are a large part of the reason why.

And everyone's favorite name in the system is the NWL offensive player of the week:

Northwesat League

Rebel Ridling, Boise

.458 (11-24), 4 R, 7 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 2 BB, 5 SO, 0 SB, .875 SLG

Ridling hit safely in all six games last week, recording four multi-hit games, including a two-double performance Wednesday in a 4-3 win against Everett. His lone homer of the week and second of the season was a three-run shot in the fourth inning of a 5-4 win against Yakima. His 14 RBIs are second-most in the Northwest League and his .415 average is third-best among all hitters.

My favorite name has to be Jericho Jones. :D

Josh Vitters now has a 13 game hit streak with a single in the 1st.

BUST

I wonder what the Boise record for longest hitting streak to start a season? Josh must be getting close.

I'm not positive but i don't think he got a hit in his first two games at Boise.

Looks like Harol Tolentino, not Leverton, is getting the start for Boise. Wish the game was on video, just so I could see Tolentino's stuff.
