"That's usually a good thing,'' Cubs reliever - and former Sox starter - Scott Eyre said of the other guys yapping about things unrelated to the games. "They're worried about other stuff. That means our fans are doing their job. You've got to salute them for that one.

"Those are the ones you want to buy a beer for after the game.''

and then about Ozzie's rats comment....

"I imagine there's rats in their bullpens out there, too,'' Eyre said of the Sox. "But I just don't see them. Maybe their fans eat the rats, who knows?''

That is kinda funny but I was hoping we wouldn't stoop to their level

Eyre will get crap about it next weekend, but he was pretty clearly joking. I don't think anyone would take it seriously.

Consider what team's fan base he's talking about, and I'm quite certain someone will take it seriously.

Anyone on the White Sox or in their organization, I mean. He'll certainly hear about it while in the bullpen.

Eyre has it wrong, White Sox fans eat the cockroaches and use rats as pets. \:D/

For what it's worth, The fans were completely getting under the sox skin this series. Before sundays game someone was playing catch with Dotel in the outfield and some fans were heckling him (dotel). So Dotel turned around, did the "suck it" motion complete with a hip thrust towards the left field bleachers then pointed at some fans. Classy.

Aren't these guys professional athletes? Shouldn't they be used to heckling? What the hell is their problem?

The sox have an inferiority complex. Period. Fans and team alike.

They're also human beings who get annoyed when people yell insulting things at them for hours on end.

Correct me if I am wrong, but was it me, or was there less White Sox at Wrigley Field this yr, then in years' past? Yr's past, you could always hear the WS Fans at Wrigley during telecasts, but this yrs, you hardly ever heard anything friom the WS fans. So I was wondering if it was just me or not.

Forgive me if I don't feel sorry for them.

Really? You're gonna do this? Unfortunately, all my tears for the White Sox are all dried up from crying about 100 years of Cubs futility.

I never said you should feel sorry for them. I just said you shouldn't expect them to stand there and pretend it's not happening. If you can yell at them, why aren't they allowed to respond?

Sox fans are like the red-headed stepchild at a Nascar event. Or this guy:
