No one cares (including me), but I'm obligated to post that Notre Dame beat St. John's tonight in their final regular-season game. Harangody had 31 and 12, so it's nice to see him back to his old self for a night.

 

ND will be the 10th seed in the Big East tournament and opens with Rutgers on Tuesday. If they do what they should and beat them, it's any of Syracuse, West Virginia or Providence on Wednesday depending on what happens this weekend.

Sick ending to the Creighton-Wichita State game. Wichita State came back from 20 down in the 2nd to take a 1 pt lead, but Creighton hit a 15 footer off an inbounds play at the buzzer. Losing there probably kills their at large chances. In other news, Cornell clinches the Ivy and the first auto bid of the year.

 

Yeah, Creighton salvaged a possible at-large berth with that win tonight. But the clock operator at Scottrade didn't start the clock on the last inbounds play in time which allowed Woodfox to get that last shot off.

 

The season from hell for SIU ended today. We started out by leading Bradley 17-9 before Bradley promptly went on one of the fastest 19-1 runs I've ever seen. I'm so glad this season is over. Hopefully the young guys get some more learning under their belts for next year, Tony Freeman comes in and does a good job, and the JUCO's that we land contribute right away. Oh well...go Illini now.

Tennessee-Martin was upset last night by Morehead State 63-55 in the OVC semifinals. That unfortunately relegates the regular season champion Skyhawks to the NIT. The reason that's unfortunate is that Lester Hudson won't be in the tournament. He's a future pro averaging 27.3 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 4.1 apg, and 2.4 spg.

michigan beat minnesota... i would've had minnesota as a definite "in" and michigan as definite "out" if minnesota had won, but this upset makes things more difficult.

 

uconn (#1) fell to pitt, so we'll have a new #1 (again).
