Did anyone read that Gary Williams article from a week or 2 ago about him bemoaning the current state of recruiting and how his refusal to get down and dirty is what's costing him the top kids?

Na, missed that one. I know that he he doesn't involve himself as much with the hands on part of the recruiting. Deron Williams has said in the past he was recruited there, but never spoke to Williams. Seems like an odd way to recruit.

Na, missed that one. I know that he he doesn't involve himself as much with the hands on part of the recruiting. Deron Williams has said in the past he was recruited there, but never spoke to Williams. Seems like an odd way to recruit.

 

I just heard that same thing about someone else. that he barely (or didn't) see Gary Williams, even on his official visit to the school.

maybe gary williams should be a pro coach, that seems to be the draw for them. more money, less work, but shorter shelf-life.

 

however, in gary's defense, he nabbed gilchrist in that class and it was a pretty good class all-around even though they were coming off a national title and the class should have been phenomenal. they still got 5 4-star recruits and it looked like they were reloading.

PSU got down too much early and ran out of gas late. This game just makes the cluster-hump in the middle of the the conference that much more....cluster-humpy

Wow just looked at OU's history. They are much better than I originally thought. Do they have the money to keep Capel around? I would think so from the football revenue.

 

I think they do. But whoever said it earlier was right--I think he would bolt for an ACC gig.

Why? Why get in that conference with the two monsters? It eats up coaches. Pac Ten is where to go. Besides UCLA and Howland none of those other teams would scare me into thinking I couldn't outrecruit them.

Well if OU ever has a better player than Blake Griffin and if KU is ever younger than this year, that would be the time for the Sooners to win the conference. Wait, what's that? Those two things will never happen?

In out best season ever we at least managed to win our conference. You guys got beat by a rebuilding Kansas. I also doubt you make the final four this year.

Well if OU ever has a better player than Blake Griffin and if KU is ever younger than this year, that would be the time for the Sooners to win the conference. Wait, what's that? Those two things will never happen?
