I soapdropping hate games played in Eugene (and Seattle).

What an ugly win.

Oregon's crap now though.

Brobama's team is giving SC more trouble than the Ducks did! At least DeRozan has been showing some signs recently.

 UCLA always struggles in Eugene and Seattle.

Tajuan Porter was having one of his usual games - he shot Oregon right back into it in and then shot them right out of it.

Boston College is up on North Carolina by 6. That'd be nice if BC would win, it would make our loss to them look better.

I'm really sad that Alford left Iowa, that guy was always great for a laugh. Especially when he tried to claim an "effective Big Ten Championship" after winning the tournament in BTT 06.

That said I am not too disappointed with Illinois' loss today. I didn't think they would win going into the game, and our bigs were extremely sluggish in the second half on defensive rotation. I was not too thrilled that UM knocked down all those threes either but that is just basketball. We are much improved but still have a long way to go.

Bwahahahahahhahaha.

Oregon State hasn't won a conference game since 2007.

Oh my god. Oregon State just snapped a 22 game conference losing streak against USC.

OSU owns the Trojans :[

Also, I hate Daniel Hackett.

GOD DAMNIT.

OU was counting on USC as one of their better win. Thanks guys.

that sucked.

i don't know how many open threes Louisville shot. that was the difference in the game.

:yahoo:

(the game should not have been that close. the best thing that happened late in the game was earl fouling out so he couldn't singlehandedly give the game away.)

of the 14-15 years since the football game renewal, only one team has won both. sUcK can win all the football games as far as i'm concerned.

and like i said, enough with iowa. they're an irrelevant ,irrelevant team.

Then why did you talk about Illinois last year?

Or Illinois football this year?

because when illinois basketball is down, everyone notices. when iowa basketball is down and a pointless waste of time, the sky is blue.

Over the last 3 years Iowa is one game better than Illinois in the Big Ten. We had a coaching move in the middle of that 3 years, Bruce has no such excuse. Except maybe that it can be a distraction to have players leave another teammate to die.

What about the irrelevant Illinois football team this year? Why were they discussed?

why just the past 3 years? but i guess a tourney appearance for the hawkeyes is considered a successful season, and that's just fine for a largley irrelevant program. you guys are doin great!

you can go to the football thread to discuss illinois football if you'd like. i thought this was the basketball thread. but if you're asking me, illinois football was just about irrelevant enough to beat the hawkeyes.

I was obviously cherry-picking the numbers to help state my case. But the fact remains that Illinois hasn't been relevant since Deron Williams left. No more relevant than Iowa.

You don't want anyone to discuss irrelevant teams. Yet you continually discussed (well actually you just whined about officiating and how only you are doomed to root for teams with terrible luck) Illinois football. They were completely irrelevant this year and haven't been any more relevant historically than Iowa basketball.

And if you want to go the head-to-head route, I wasn't bragging when Iowa beat Illinois in '07. We stunk, they went to the Rose Bowl. It didn't really mean much.

Fun facts. The year after Deron Williams left we went 18-0 to start the season. The last remaining undefeated team in America. We won at UNC and at Wisconsin. Thanks for the history lesson though. Good call on us not being relevant after Deron Williams.

What I really like about that statement though is how pretty much everyone, Jay Bilas included, didn't even think Deron Williams was all that great in college. Hell Dee Brown and Luther Head were the first team All Americans.

are you trying to insult iowa fans by talking bad about steve alford

Making fun of Steve Alford is a favorite past time of mine. Reguardless of who is around. Hell I expect you guys to get in on it.

And Luther Head wasn't a top 100 recruit.

The help side defense was absolutely awful the whole second half. Rotation was terrible and there was no communication on the weave thing they were doing up top. They'll get better and Michigan caused some weird matchups, but going 1-1 in the 1st 2 conference games is fine, especially with the win at PU.

Yep we were playing with house money today. Just have to beat them at home.

Everyone knows Deron is way behind Frankie in the ultimate "Illinois guard named Williams" standings.

Agreed. At least when it comes to being cool.
