Illinois is pretty damn good. They did a lot of things really well tonight. Their ball movement and passing was pretty incredible. So many open dunks tonight. And then Mizzou would bring the ball down court, pass around the perimeter, and one guy would take two dribbles inside the 3 point line and jack up a bad shot. It really is amazing the difference between the two teams.

Don't take this is as a flame, but if Illinois had a few really, really good players, they'd be an easy top ten team. I'm not a big fan of Weber, but the way the offense is playing under him is impressive as hell.

but if any team had a few really really good players, they'd be a top 10 team, though. haha.

look at jordan kill the dribble 2 feet before the half court line. was he never taught how to play?

MIke Davis and McCamey are really good players.

I'm talking Deron Williams NBA good type players. If a couple of your recruits in the next 3-4 years live up to the hype, you guys are gonna be scary good.

If you put a couple Deron Williams NBA good type players on any Big Ten (well except IU) they'd be a top 10 team.

one can only dream. however, deron will probably be the best nba player to ever don the orange and blue. if abrams can live up to the hype, watch out.

after watching evan turner (and standing up, shouting "i want that"), i hope that richmond can compare to him as well.

Kendall Gill sucka. But, yeah I would love for just one of our current recruits to be Deron Williams good.

gill had a very good career, but williams is one the league's premier point guards.

I'm an Illini fan and it was a great win for the Illini, but I don't think they're as good as they looked tonight and I don't think Mizzou is as bad as they looked at times tonight.

Bad shooting night for the Tigers, partially caused by good defense they hadn't seen yet this year. Good shooting night for the Illini and much of that was a lot of easy looks after breaking the press and really hot shooting early by McCamey.

Illinois may end up top 20 at the end of the year if the young guys (McCamey in particular) can stay consistent.

Mizzou may well end there just because the B12 North is so weak.

Texas having trouble with Wisconsin (again) kind of confuses me. Rick Barnes owned Kelvin Sampson after he got the horns going. Wisconsin and Michigan State play the same type of basketball. Yet he loses to those teams...

Izzo and Ryan could both outcoach Sampson without putting forth much effort. Both are far superior in preparation and in game adjustments to Sampson.

True, true. Michigan State usually had more talent than Sampson's teams at Oklahoma, too.

where's the love for Nick Anderson?

I know a couple of Illinois fans who never got over his lack of blocking out in the loss to Michigan in the Final Four.

Part 1 of the season is more or less over, let's get the conference games cranking. Time to see what PSU is really made of.

I think PSU will be right there with Minnesota, Iowa and WIsconsin in conference. Read into that what you will.

I think Penn St. is gonna be with Northwestern fighting for 8. I think you can take 3-7 throw them in a bag and pick them at random just as well as predicting where those 5(OSU, UI, Wis, Minn, UM my order btw) will finish. It's too bad for PSU and NU cause if they played at this level last year they'd have probably put together a 20 win season. They can each make strong NIT cases though if they can be respectable in conference play. There is not going to be an easy road game for anyone outside of Bloomington. Should be loads of fun.
