Props to the umps for missing the fact that Molina missed the tag.

Anyways, prayers go out to Yadier. Hope he is okay.

From reading over at Gateway Redbirds, sounds like Molina had a slight concussion and won't need to be put on the disabled list. The Cards will bring up a catcher from AAA and go back to having 12 pitchers on the team instead of 13.

It looked to me that the ump was in the wrong position to be able to see that the glove never made contact.

Another opportunity for replay to get it right, where the ump simply only has so much information available to him (namely, line of sight) to make the correct call in the moment. And that one could very well have changed the standings.

Just saying...

Glad the injury wasn't more serious.

I don't want instant replay for tags. Only for homeruns and that's it.

The problem with instant replay is that it takes way from the moment. I hate missed calls too. But I hated it more back a few years ago in the NHL when they were disallowing half the goals and you could never really get excited when the red light went off because you knew there was a good chance it was coming back.

Or when Devin Hester breaks off a huge return, but instead of cheering you are looking around for flags.

that was the terrible skate-in-the-crease rule, which was quickly changed by the league during the offseason.

Ok, I pray he will beable to break the Mendoza line some day.

You know, he's actually been a pretty decent hitting catcher the last couple of years. Very little power, but pretty good otherwise.
