"In my opinion, it is a bunch of bull what they did," Papelbon said on "Mohegan Sun Sports Tonight" on Comcast Sportsnet, referring to last week's brawl between the two teams. "All I got to say is what comes around goes around, man. Payback's a b----, I'll tell you what."

All I can say is don't charge the mound then... Crisp deserved to get hit and had no reason to be out there.

Why would he publicly say there's going to be some kind of retaliation? Didn't someone do this last year and there were warnings issued before the game and if anything happened the offending party would be suspended?

I believe that Jake Peavy is the offending party you speak of. After Soriano moonwalked, Peavy said they would get back. Lee gets hit by Chris Young, we all know what happened next. Peavy got a few games for his comments I think.

It really makes no sense to me to just come out and say that. Either it's going to be hot air coming out with nothing happening or someone does do something and it hurts the team. Should have just kept his mouth shut and did whatever he wanted to do.

Man I the Red Sox. I hope Papelbon or Beckett or someone important on the Sox hits a Ray which causes a bench clearing brawl, then during the brawl some important member on the Red Sox hurts himself severely.

Yeah its a little harsh, but I'm sick of that damn team and damn city.

It still so much better than it being the Yankees though.

To me, no it's not.

And Papelbon's a punk. For the past 10 yrs, the Red Sox have treated the Rays as their punching bags, and when the Rays finally stand up for themselves, Papelbon doesn't like it? Paplebon's a punk.

Hey Jon, it was YOUR team that started. The Rays just ended it.

One thing for sure, the Rays are inside the Red Sox heads. Plus the Red Sox came off as the arrogant bully, that needs to be put down. I am hoping the Rays can win that division so that both the Red Sox and the Yankees are at home watching the playoffs.

Both the bottomline is this....Boston is a douchebag city, with douchebag fans, and idiots players.

Boston is a beautiful city in the summertime. Just walk along the Charles RIver and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Boston fans are as dedicated to their team as Cubs fans, if not more so.

I think their players wear the term "idiots" with pride. Think of 2004.

Papelbon and the Red Sox are coming off as huge d-bags right now. He seems to be forgetting that Coco is the one who started it with his disrty slide. Shelds plunked him (in the hip, not up and in), which is standard practice. If Coco would have just taken his base like a reasonable person, it would have been over with.

So basically, Crisp is the one that initially started the problems with his dirty slide and is also the one that started the brawl by unneccessarily charging the mound. So Papelbon looks pretty stupid with the "what goes around comes around" garbage.

Yankee fans weren't this bad. They were cocky but didn't throw it in your face 24/7. The Red Sox fans act as if they are the best thing since slice bread and constantly bring up their world series'. Plus with Yankee fans you can't argue much they have won so many times with Red Sox its like ummm congrats you've won twice in almost 90 years. They should be cocky because they are defending champs but they are way over the line.

And yes Coco started both the fight and the whole situation and Papelbon is a complete idiot. When I hear someone who is in the wrong in the first place talk like that I begin wishing for injuries.

This is very wrong, a Yankees fan can't go 2 minutes without saying COUNT THE RINGZ

Whenever I go into that stadium, wearing a Cubs hat, I never hear the end of billy goats, 100 years, Bartman and 26 titles. Mets fans, while they do make jabs occasionaly, stop after an inning or 2.
