would guess that Peoria's playing 2 at the Quad Cities today due to the non-existent drainage system up there - the half ends on Sunday, so it's either the double-header or a lost game.

The Chiefs' website said there would be a DH on Wednesday.

thanks O_O. It figures - supposed to be sunny all day here for the first time in several days and they're predicting rain for tomorrow.

You can vote for the AAA all-stars. You know you guys want to show Andres Blanco and Mike Burns some love. (But seriously, guys like Hoffpauir, Patterson, Murton, Kroeger, Marshall, Hill, Wells and Ascanio are on there).

I will be right behind home plate in the tunnel photographing that game. I refuse to wave at the camera though.

Marquez Smith hit his 10th HR of the season for Peoria. Get that man to Daytona!!

Siegfried continues to struggle big time, giving up 6 earned in 2. I think he's headed to the Peoria pen soon.

i'm on the randy wells bandwagon... he could be an effective middle reliever. his ERA wasn't particularly good the last couple of years, but he was pretty unlucky with balls in play. he's got solid stuff and has averaged a strikeout per inning in his minor league career. i'd give him a shot if one of the guys currently in the pen starts to struggle.

Before or after Ascanio?

normally i would've said after ascanio, but ascanio's been pitching poorly since going back to iowa, while wells has been very good lately. in any case, we have 13 pitchers right now, which is dumb, and someone (hart) should be heading back to iowa pretty soon.

Mark Reed 1 for his last 20 with 1 walk and 10Ks. And this right after his 1st HR and right when he was looking like a pretty good hitter.

Wells was on 3 days rest also. There's really nothing bad about his numbers.

2.01 ERA. 7 starts, 6 relief appearances. .207 opp avg. Walking less than 2.5 per 9. Striking out more than 8 per 9. More GBs than FBs, and he's not really a GB pitcher.

As a starter, 38 IP, 26 hits, 5 ERs, 10 BBs, 33 Ks. ERA 1.18, WHIP 0.95.
