Prior to 2004, I don't think too many people outside of the NE area were gushing Sox fans.

 

Yankees "nation?" Yeah, I can see that --- long time dominating team that was featured on the game of the week most weeks.

 

Cub nation? yes -- WGN, thank you very much.

 

I live in a town of 5,000. We're in the southeast corner of Arkansas --- it's a cardinal town. However, I know a bunch of Cub fans. I know ZERO Red Sox fans. I never see Sox shirts, hats, etc. You see Cub stuff in my po-dunk town quite often.
