I'm not nearly the draft guru that others are, so I'm not much help there. Raisin, RammyFanny, Ping, and others probably have a better idea.

Some of them were talking about Isaac Galloway, a HS OF, for one of our previous picks. Paying him would add some balance to the college heavy, lower ceiling profile of our draft thus far. Not sure what his demands are though.

As long as he's not 5'7" and 140 pounds dripping wet I'll go along with what the boys want the Cubbies to pick. Selfishly, I hope they pick a kid from around here.

The 3 guys I'd like are Danks (gone already, good selection by the White Sox), Harold Martinez or Isaac Galloway...it will cost a bit to convince Martinez and Galloway to not go to Miami or SDSU but it'd be worth it. The Cubs picked up some nice projectable arms but the bats, not so much.

The three major college programs in the state, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and Oral Roberts, all had high-profile transfer catchers join their programs this spring and Flores was the best of the three. He played at Houston for two seasons, splitting time between the mound (1-1, 6.10) and behind the plate (.263-9-24), with mixed success. Though he was 6-0 at Houston as a freshman with a lively 90-mph fastball, Flores gave up pitching this spring to concentrate on his catching duties, although he did throw a couple of mop-up innings. As a catcher, Flores is an intense competitor with great baseball savvy. His arm strength was among the best in the country, and he is a quick, agile receiver despite his strong, blocky build. Offensively, Flores flashed raw power occasionally, but is best when he’s working counts and using what the pitcher gives him. He hit .299-5-31 with 39 walks this year (entering NCAA regional play), consistent with his previous output. He’ll be drafted because of his defensive and leadership skills.—DAVID RAWNSLEY

Names that i'd be on:

Alex Meyer, P- Top pitching guy left, late 1st round talent. Will probably be tough sign.

Brett Hunter- 1st rounder coming into this year, injury problems and crazy delivery have dropped him.

Sonny Gray- Absoltely love him, but he's not signing, so forget about it.

Zach Cox (going more off a BA than me here)- Really good hitter, iffy athleticism.

Harold Martinez SS- No idea why he's still here, but I have to assume he might have told teams he wants to go to college or something. He was a top 10 pick coming into the season, and the main reason why people have said he dropped was because of a subpar season, but looking at his stats I remembered them being pretty damn good, so he's an intersting case. Might have to move to third, but would be awesome if he could stay at short.

Taylor Jungmann- My personal sleeper. Great frame, great fastball, potential for nasty offspeed pitch.

Michale Pallazone (sp?)- It wasn't too long ago that he was considered right around Gray's area. Solid low 90's fastball, very good offspeed curve.

Reds just took C Kyle Day, Michigan State who was a late round pick for the Cubs last year who never signed.

Preston Clark is another late round Cubs guy from last year who hasn't signed.

Nice pick by TB with McKenna

Pretty late for a guy that was on our radar as an earlier pick (and is a senior sign).
