Wuertz is so bad he hurts the Cubs not only in this game but in future games.

you realize he has a 148 ERA+ coming into tonight, right?

I'm aware. I was obviously heavy on te hyperbole.

That said, I am not a fan of Wuertz . His numbers are always good but dude is a choke artist.

Don't bother. Wuertz is the poster boy for the "but he looks bad to me" train of thought.

god use someone else. eyre? howry? lou you're an idiot.

He tried to save his arm and Wuertz pitched like complete garbage. I'm big on saving Marmol, but what's the alternative here? I guess you could go Howry, but he pitched more than an inning yesterday.

use eyre? use lieber for more than an inning? same with cotts? its a giant ass ballpark and we're up 4. i'm not concerned. lou is just awful at managing the pen.

What does that have to do with walking two people with a four run lead? Nothing.

He had a poor outing. Sometimes baseball players have sub-par performances. You know, like in, the real world? He's still a pretty good pitcher.

I'm not a weurtz basher by any means, but it really is amazing how his numbers look so good while the impression that he leaves is usually not nearly as good. It's been pretty weird

I'd like to see someone compile a list of Wuertz's performances and what the situations were (winning or losing, by how many, and what inning). I'd be willing to bet there is a noticable difference in performance based on game situation, and not in a good way.

Wuertz lives and dies with that slider. When the sliders on, Wuertz is on. When the sliders off, Lou goes off.
