He was on Jim Rome is Burning. He talked about his irregular heartbeat and Brian Roberts, among other things.

He said Brain Roberts rumors hurt his game a bit, but he feels he proved that he belongs this year.

Also, he talked about playing both outfield and infield, and apparently he loves playing the outfield in Wrigley.

He also spoke of Jim Edmonds, and it seems like he is well liked in the clubhouse, and thinks he'll have a good game soon. He's a friend of Fukudome as well.

Nothing really groundbreaking, but still interesting.

I've been thinking of starting a thread on DeRosa soon, so I'll just put my thoughts here.

He has quietly went about and did his job this year. He probably is the least talked about person in the starting lineup so far this year when you consider the big boppers that everyone focuses on (Lee, Ramirez, Soriano) the sparkling rookies (Soto, Fukudome) the surprise (Theriot) and the black hole (Pie/Johnson/Edmonds).

So far he's off to his best start of his career. .315/.406/.461 while once again already having played 5 positions, most of them pretty well. He's the guy who lets us have such an unversatile bench, and therefore a bench with better hitters on it.

So I just wanted to say my appreciation for his flexibility, both in the field and in the lineup (batting 8th recently!). In my opinion, he's already earned every penny of that 3 year contract we gave him, and he has a year and a half left to add even more value to the team.

Seriously though, Cubbies fans love this man. What is with Khalil Greene's hair btw? Remarkable..get him a comb.

Mark DeRosa... Cubs fans need to GET. OFF. HIS. BACK. The guy's a professional hitter, a real gamer, a guy that will go out there and get the job done. And besides, what do Cubs fans know about second sackers anyway? They haven't had a good one since Ryne Sandberg retired in the 90s.

I have no problems with DeRosa on this team. His versatility is his greatest asset, but it doesn't hurt that he's having such a good season at the plate thus far.

When he first signed I thought he was overpaid, and I know there was a lot of disdain here for another bad Hendry contract. But he's earned every penny.

Welcome, what is up? We got a great show for you today. First we discuss the Cubs. I mean, what is up with this team? Yesterday they started Jimmy Edmonds. Horr-endous. This team is in worse shape then me when I interviewed Jim "Chris" Everett.

i didn't like the signing at all because of the contract, but he's absolutely been worth every bit of it.

He didn't say he loved playing the outfield. He said that he didn't mind it but highly prefers 2nd base. He said that the outfield at Wrigley is tough because so much is going on behind you that it's hard to focus sometimes.
