My Boilers gave Michigan a run for their money in the Big Ten Championship. That said i doubt Purdue gets in (got a small chance with 2nd reg. season/tourny finish). With that I will be rooting for Michigan to make some noise because northern teams rarely do thanks to the massive advantage warm weather teams have (they did make a rule change and have a uniform start date so advantage isn't as big now).

That sucks because we don't know when we'd get to face Miami. I wonder if Jamieson throws Gibson at Ole Miss and then Crow at (most likely) Miami if we can win the first one, or if he tries to come close to the auto-win by throwing Crow at Ole Miss.

I'm sick of these general college baseball threads going in the June Amateur Draft forum that hardly anyone reads. Because they are generalized they should go in Social with all the other random sports threads.

A moment of silence please for the demise of the two-time defending-CWS champion Oregon State Beavers.

We've been doing this for years and it's worked just fine.

Well ya, I'm sure it works fine...I'm not insinuating that because they've been in this forum that the sun will collapse upon itself.

But just look at the number of people who look at this forum; it's abysmal compared to the rest of the board. College Baseball deserves to be in a forum that is susceptible to higher traffic.

UCLA is a #2 in Fullerton...#1 is CSUF, #3 is Virginia and #4 is Rider.

Seeing as they were on the outside of the bubble looking in 10 days ago, it's great to see them play their way to a #2. Of course I don't think UCLA has ever beat Fullerton or will ever beat them, so that sucks.

Not only did UC Davis get into the tournament while UC Santa Barbara got left out \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ but the Aggies will face Stanford in the first round. UCD beat the Cardinal 9-8 in 12 innings at their place and 10-8 in Davis. Long Beach State, CSU Fullerton and UC Irvine were the other three Big West teams to get bids.

The official regional pairings for the field of 64. Some reading from Aaron Fitt of Baseball America on figuring out how the field was put together. And an Aaron Fitt chat from today.

Miami gets the No. 1 seed but also gets a tough regional, with preseason top 10 teams Missouri and Mississippi as its second- and third-seeded teams. The Tigers and Rebels have two of the top six pitching staffs in the country, and Missouri is an experienced bunch making its sixth consecutive regionals trip. If the Hurricanes survive that gauntlet, they get the winner of the Ann Arbor regional, which features talented Arizona, Big Ten champion Michigan and hard-hitting Kentucky. Those two regionals contain five top-10 preseason teams.

Yikes!!

I would want no part of Miami at Miami this season. Tough break for Mizzou. I'm not liking Texas at Rice, but after winning the Big 12 tourney they are almost playing better now than the entire season. Either way I doubt they make the CWS again this year.

Unlike the past three years where the Rebels lost game three's in the Super Regionals, I doubt they'll even make it to a Super this year. Although if they do make it to the Super I'd expect they'd host it. The past two times we've hosted Super Regionals (05 & 06) we had the largest attendance of any Super Regional.

nice to see that a 16-32 team gets a crack at winning it all.
There are actually several teams with overall losing records in the tournament. Welcome to the world of automatic bids.

I would really like to see Dallas Baptist make a solid run. They have had a great season, and rewarded a #2 seed in their region.

Damn good pitching matchup today in the Mizzou-Ole Miss game with 2 probable first rounders (Lance Lynn & Aaron Crow) going against each other.
