Because they don't know anything about him and they've been terrible with drafting Europeans. There are also some big names available that the fans would like.

Gotta be Alexander here.

Jesus, did Van Gundy lose a bet there? There is no way he really thinks that Marbury is still a good NBA point guard. How the hell did he say that with a straight face?

ETA: Offensive language

Thought this was fitting since we're talking NY fans.

They basically traded: Manning for Rivers, Merriman, and a pro bowl kicker.

I'm biased, but Manning for Rivers is lopsided, Manning for Rivers, Merriman, Kaeding is a raping.

Yeah, how'd that work out for the Giants?

Is it me or is a computer error message playing any time they play the intro music before announcing the pick?

Alexander I'm iffy on. Apparently he's been awesome in workouts and Hollinger loves him...but I've never been blown away by him whenever I watched WVU.

Given the available talent is decidedly mediocre right now, he's a good risk to take...but eh.

please, don't give me a few lucky weeks to say that Eli is a God.

That was won by the defense.

Rivers played NE with a torn ACL, LT and Gates didn't play...and they still about won. Don't tell me Eli is better than Rivers, just look up the numbers.

Same here. I didn't really think anything of him until he turned into an absolute stud down the stretch and in the Big East Tournament.

Good fit for Skiles though.

thats my west virginia boy

the west virginia boy that mocked duke?

well i forgot about that. but my second college is west virginia. he was a monster against Duke and Arizone. I like that pick for the Bucks (at least I did before they traded for Jefferson).

Yeah, but Eli has a ring. They were able to surround him with good talent.

As much as I don't care for Duke, his comments were completely belittling to Duke and the ACC. That's why I remembered.

Wow, didn't expect that. I think he's a pure point and can score, it's just whether or not he can defend at all.

Kiki has to be freaking out that he's getting Brook Lopez.

(Read above post) The Chargers have talent, but they were injured in the playoffs. It took Norv a while to get the team headed in the right direction. If healthy, they are the team to beat next year.

How far does Lopez fall? The Nets just drafted Yi, so he might not go there. The Pacers make a lot of sense, especially after the O'Neal deal. After that, the Kings all but said they were taking Randolph, right? And Lopez isn't a great fit in Portland either.

Has there been a pick the ESPN guys haven't liked yet? Seriously, these guys are just sucking up to everyone and aren't questioning any of the picks or philosophies.

The Blazers could use him. To insure themselves for the inevitable Oden injury.

Bucks drafted Yi.
