I haven't heard anything about him lately.

Here are his stats at AAA Iowa: 12 IP, 1.50 ERA, 11 K/4 BB, .150 BAA. That's over 3 games started. His next start will be on Thursday.

hes around 6'7, single, likes puppy dogs, folks music, and long walks on the beach.

Oh, and hes doing pretty good in Iowa. 1.50 ERA I think. Hes better off down there waiting for Marquis to melt down than he is on the big league team at the end of the bullpen.

Thanks. That's exactly the info I was looking for.

When are we going to get rid of Marquis and bring Marshall back up?

Pretty sure he's not single..I saw some video footage of his wedding which I think was this summer....lets just say that regardless of how he performs....whole MLB thing has worked out for Sean just fine.

So glad he's allowed to contribute somewhere

How is he only going 4 IP per start and still putting up great numbers?

He's obviously on a pitch count as he's being stretched out after wasting away in the Cubs pen. He went 3 IP in his first start with Iowa, then 4 IP, and most recently 5 IP in his last start.

Alexis and her husband enjoy trying out new restaurants, traveling to see friends and family, and spending time with their two dogs.

So LLF got the single thing wrong, but puppy dogs right...hes batting .500!

He's a ballplayer though, so being married can be very similar to being single.

I can't imagine it'll be too long before he's back in the rotation. But the question is, who will he replace?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Marquis. Unless Gallagher sucks up the joint.

He may be batting .500, but what in the world is folks music?

Id love it to happen but I think people that are expecting the Cubs to release Marquis are a little delusional, they arent going to throw away all that money. I think at best we have to hope he's burried in the bulpen, which just takes up space on the roster someone of value could be taking. How much is left on his contract? I just dont see them eating it.

I think the bullpen, or a trade. If they can pull off a Jacque Jones/Todd Hundley type trade, it may work.

Jason Marquis rhp

Approximately $14.2 million remaining.

Piniella said that it would be 1-2 more starts for Marshall to build up the stamina necessary to come up to the majors. It sounds like he really wants Marshall in the rotation though, at least until Hill comes back.

Again, the whole "handedness" of the starter resurfaces. I can't be alone in thinking that it might just be a good idea to start the 5 best pitchers, period. Marshall absolutely should get a crack at the rotation - and I'm not saying you're saying this Colt - and he shouldn't be bounced if another lefty is ready. And on a related point, Gallagher shouldn't be bounced just because Lou wants another lefty in the rotation.

Dumping Marquis is the obvious solution, as has been discussed above, but I just wanted to mini-rant.

I think Marquis can and will be traded soon. This is the time of year when teams have pitching injuries or know what they have already and what they need. Marquis is a decent innings eater and would actually fill a need for teams like the Orioles, Padres, Mariners and of course the Rangers.

On a semi related note, I was watching The Natural the other day and Marquis reminds me a lot of Fowler, the ace of the Knights pitching staff. He also looks a lot like Bivens.

I'd think Detroit may have interest.

Haven't they supposedly been trying hard to trade Marquis for months now?

Just release him and be done with it. Nobody wants to give up players for that hump and his bag of money.
