Just heard on the score that Pie will be playing CF, batting 8th tonight. They didn't read the rest of the lineup.

 

That pretty much assures that Theriot is the SS tonight. My guess is that Fontenot gets another start at 2B, and Fontenot will be the leadoff batter and Theriot 2nd.

 

I'm under the impression that Fontenot went into Lou's doghouse this weekend.

I would think that Pie would be batting 2nd tonight if that was the case. He might bat Theriot first and then either Ronny, Fukudome, or DeRosa 2nd, but it would be a change to what Lou has typically done and would indicate a real change towards how he views Cedeno.

 

Edit: or Johnson could be in LF. I don't know why I completely forgot that was an option. That makes much more sense. Thanks Bruce.

5. One more and he equals his CS total from his 06 and 07 totals in the majors combined. Teams are much more aware of him now, and he's attempted way too may so far. He only attempted 32 last year (made 28) and he's on pace to attempt closer to 70 this year, which is simply way too many for his speed.

I have the feeling no matter how bad Theriot does, they'll never pull him since Hendry and Piniella have some crush on him just because hes a " hustler " and gets his uniform dirty..I'll take Cedeno and his arm and range at SS anyday over him.
