Kobe's got a couple days to get his back healthy before Game 5 on Wednesday. There's no doubt in my mind that the Lakers are clearly the better team and that, if Kobe is healthy, they'll win the series. I really think they would have won today had Kobe not been hurt the entire game. Nothing went right for them up until the last few minutes and they were still able to push the game in overtime. Even though the series is tied at 2, I would be very, very worried if I was a Jazz fan.

However if Kobe's not healthy, the Lakers are obviously in trouble.

Yep, the Jazz should just forfeit and get ready for next year.

I assume you're being sarcastic but I'm not exactly sure why. You admitted in the post right before mine that Utah can't win the series.

No I mean it. They are getting the buisness end of it from the referees. This was a home game for them and the Lakers got a ton of questionable calls for them going down the stretch. How the hell can they compete in LA?

Williams is better than anyone at point guard not named Paul.

water is wet.

NBA PGs:

Paul

Williams

rest of league

(I expect Derrick Rose to be up there with them within two years)

And hurt Kobe + no Turiaf (Pau was in foul trouble, and played a bunch of minutes, and Ronny made a big impact in the short time he played) really hurt the Lakers.

Na, hell look at that call on Williams. Williams was second team all nba playing at home. Yet Fisher, a very nice player but a backup on most good teams, gets the away with shoving Williams to the ground. Two things should happen their either a charge, or what I would have went with a no call. The bad thing is LA doesn't need any help. They are a great team.

There were some questionable calls against the Jazz but most of them came in overtime. And had the Lakers actually won the game, Utah would have had nobody but themselves to blame since they blew a 12 point lead with 4 minutes to play. Yes, there were some questionable calls in OT - the Korver one right at the beginning of OT was complete BS and the one against Kirilenko - but that was after Utah blew the big lead. The Okur technical was BS but so was Turiaf getting tossed out, and that one hurt a lot more than one tech.

EDIT: Forgot about the Williams foul that you mentioned.

And as for competing in LA, they'll have trouble winning there because they suck on the road, not because of the refs.

Hey don't be quoting me on that. I have a rep to maintain. Deron Williams is the best point guard ever. Whew. Quote that.

Nah, not at all. Nash is probably a half notch below Williams, but in my eyes, there's a sharp dropoff from there to where the Baron Davis, Tony Parker, Jason Kidd, Chauncey Billups, and Jose Calderons are.

I still think Parker is better than Deron, but that could probably change as early as next year. I do agree that Deron's better than the rest of the guys you listed.

Well, you have to respect the fact that he's been the PG for three championship winners. He really wasn't all that great when he came into the league, but he's really become an outstanding player. His jump shot was always the weakest part of his game and he's turned that into a pretty good part for himself.

I think it's pretty equal, but I'd probably take Parker over Deron right now because of the experience factor. You can make the argument that he's working around one of the best players of all-time in Duncan while the next best player that Deron has to work with is Boozer, but I just really like the way Parker runs an offense and his defense isn't too shabby either.

I'm a huge Deron fan, so it's not like I'm knocking him.

I'd take Deron Williams over Tony Parker today in a heartbeat (forget the future).

And I do. I also respect that Derek Fisher has done the same thing, but I'd give you three Derek Fishers if you offered me one Deron Williams.

The pro wrestling home court thing is a little over the top. Lose by 20 away from home and then win by 20 at home, you can't tell me refs don't make the difference in this.

I would take Deron too, but remember Parker is only 25 and still improving.

Where will Augustine fall into this mix in a couple of years. I won't be surprised to see him right behind Paul, Rose and Deron.

Billups is better than Parker. Not that Parker is bad at all. I actually think he's the most underrated player in the league.

And Deron won't be 24 for another month...that's not really an advantage for Parker, unless you just happen to think that Deron is closer to his ceiling than Parker is.

Not at all, I just think Parker's age gets forgotten given that I think this is something like his 8th year in the league. Like I had mentioned I would still take Deron, but I believe Parker has yet to peak as well.

What do you guys think of Conley Jr.? I think he could be a guy who makes the step up the next couple of years.

Oddly enugh, he may end up having to battle for a job, considering that Javaris crittenton (acquired in the Gasol trade) has made a pretty good impression. Crit could also play 2, though. It'll be interesting to see how they try to put that team back together...

Cleveland wins to even up their series although LeBron continued his horrible shooting with a 7-20 night, which was actually his best night shooting in the series.

The win also gives home teams a 15-1 record in this round.

The Celtics better not lose a game in Boston or they'll be in a world of hurt.

The NBA playoffs have been odd. I've never seen teams play so differently at home and on the road. Officials are making a huge difference in these series.
