Its only fair right? He has sucked this year, and is getting hammered, unlike Hill who just cant find the zone. Lillys smoke and mirrors from last year are over.

I wouldn't consider last year as smoke in mirrors for Lilly.

He was new to a league, and had the best year of his career. Hes nowhere near a number 2, and hes been getting hit badly.

So, just to clarify, you think the Cubs are stupid for making a knee jerk reaction based on a couple starts with Hill but are you are now doing the same thing with Lilly?

No Im saying its ignorant to do it with Hill, but if you are going to do it with Hill, then its only fair to do it with Lilly. Id be more concerned with a pitcher getting absolutely knocked around every start, then a pitcher having problems throwing strikes.

No not really. Its more a thread making fun of how stupid the Cubs think.

Howery looked a little better yesterday, I would give him two more starts, with Lieber in the wings I think Liily understands he needs to put the nose to the wheel and start winning.

Ted's well, well below his career norms right now. He should get better, but the question is how much better and how long do we have to wait. This BP is starting to get taxed way too often already; it's not just Lilly but he's a contributor.

Last year was definitely not smoke and mirrors for Lilly. I'm more concerned about his loss of velocity this year than anything else. Still early to panic though and that's what bothers me of moving Hill in the pen. Lou's veteran fetish is up there with Dusty Baker's.

Worst metaphor of the day. :)

I didn't know if anybody remembers the "nose to the grindstone" saying
