Juan, I began a draft of the rules and started putting the additions from various threads and the league message board. I forwarded the list to Brian so he could tweak it. Since he's already found something to fix I'll let him forward his draft to you. I do know that the replacement rule was not in the draft.

Not griping or anything, but an updated and concise list of the rules would help me out being one of the new guys. I had some time so I thought I'd help out.

Yea, you new guys are trouble makers!

Thanks for the help.

I've always been under the same impression as Adam, which is why I didn't sub Nady in for Frank Thomas at the mid point of last week. However, it didn't really matter, as Frank had the grand slam at the end of the week. I'm totally all for self policing though, as nobody's really ever tried to cheat, and if there was a question, it's always come up in this forum. That being said, I'll continue to stick to the setting my line-up on Monday and leaving it unless someone gets hurt (unless by chance you're dropping someone mid week)viewpoint.

How many guys that are in the league right now aren't part of the original league? I've never really thought about the number of new people we've had since the start.

From my count it's me, Juan, Deven, DJ, Josh, Doug, Chuck, Al, Shane....

Is that everyone? I'm very impressed at how this league has stayed together throughout the years.

Didn't realize that was all that was left. I actually missed the first season as I was busy, but came in the 2nd one. We could separate divisions based on this :-).

This is my 4th year in the league, and I've always been under the impression that you couldn't replace a player midweek just because he's sucking. My understanding, which is apparently wrong, was that you could replace a player (other than starting pitchers) in your lineup only if he's injured and reported to likely miss some time or if you make a trade during the week.

On a related issue, K-Rod is expected to be out at least until the weekend (although he's not on the DL). So I picked up Scott Shields as a free agent (and dropped Lowe) since I didn't have any relief pitchers on my reserve list that I could swap in. So officially Shields replaces Lowe, even though he's really replacing K-Rod.

Hopefully my 45-point lead and one pitching start advantage is enough to make up for only having one relief pitcher playing for at least the next few days.

Mine too. Actually that is my favorite thing. I don't like the day to day fantasy leagues anymore way to time consuming, plus it makes you really look at the entire week and plan based on that. Especially if you are in a league where one guy keeps dropping and adding new pitchers every day based on who is going to start that day.

I hope Andrew Miller gets one more start like that this week. :)

I don't see it as a dictatorship to have a set rule on when you can or can't make a roster change. I don't pull anyone from my roster unless I see an ambulance symbol, meaning he's looking at some bench time due to an injury.

I see it more as one less chance for confusion. Dealing with a sucky guy in the line up is part of the challenge of winning each week. You don't know who the sucky guy is going to be, and once you do figure out who it is, it's too bad so sad, IMO. An injury is something totally different, and the injury guys replacement has just as good of a chance to be the sucky guy as any of the other guys.

The "stitchface" thing kills me. I still see BigRedSun when I read anything Juan writes.

There's a few others like that too. But BRS is the worst.

How long have we been doing this league, BTW? I know I was in the first season, but I don't remember what year it was.

Three more strong pitching starts today (Bannister, Suppan, "the other" Santana). 131.5 to 19.25 lead for me at the moment. Who needs relief pitching? :D

My understanding too. A player has to be day to day to be removed (CBS injured symbol) and then he can be removed, but only to the bench or dropped. I moved Cordero to the bench for that reason. The DL is just for players officially on the DL. I always thought that once a player started playing again he could then be reinserted. I too, am not in favor of the suckiness policy. If a manager starts a player who sucks, then the manager has to live with his/her mistake until the end of the week.

BTW - No offense guys but we need some female managers. Preferably really good looking ones who have a thing for middle aged math teachers :) But I digress.

someone wake ned yost up and tell him villanueva's done. five straight hits after giving up two hits thru the first six.

Let him get hammered. At least with my team the only players I have in the NL Central are with the Cubs ;-).

My bench (thanks to Edwin Jackson) outscored Raw's starting lineup on Thursday. Then again, my bench nearly outscored my own starting lineup.

With my starters scheduled for three more starts this week, but only one more remaining fo my team, I may set a record for scoring by a reserve roster in a single week.

I am down by 40 points, but I have used 3 starts and The Eyes of Texas have used 5. This wekend should be interesting.

It would be nice if my team played a better defense though. Both D2 and TEOT have scored well in the week I played them.

Yeah I am not real comfortable. Lee going 0 for his last 10 not exactly helping my cause. I need to figure out whats going to happen with Glavine's start on Sunday with yesterdays postponement. I lost last week cause of only getting in 6 starts with Bedard going down at the last minute and making the substitution probably 10 minutes to late. Right now I am leading the league in points and could be headed for 0-2.

Offensive explosion from Fuzzy yesterday cuts the lead to under 17 and that includes a 1 start advantage on my part. My pitching has been outstanding thus far with a QS in all 11 starts but my offense could be better.

Hope this doesn't jinx you, but there is absolutely nothing worse than only being down by about 20 points and a pitching advantage the rest of the way and then your best pitcher lays bricks, which in turn takes away your pitching advantage and you're still down by 20.
