They're on a pace to hit 81 HR on the season. You think that's gonna last long ?

For Ankiel? Absolutely. I wouldn't even be surprised if he turned it up a notch from here on and pushed 90.

Somebody needs to release more "Ankiel took HGH" info to the press. I really liked the .580 OPS Ankiel had after the HGH news came out more than the 1.174 OPS he had beforehand.

It is mind-boggling. You'd think I'd get used to it, but there is simply no explanation, and it gets more ridiculous every year. By 2010 I firmly expect I will be hitting in the high .300s with 15 homers by mid-May for the Cardinals.

cubs leader - 15 (lee/soriano)

well to be fair, soriano would probably have in the neighborhood of 20 if he wasn't injured.

It's funny how Soriano has been out for 6 weeks, and he's only 2 HRs behind the Cubs team leader. It's amazing how much Lee and even Ramirez lost their power stroke. If you remember, Ramirez only had 27 HRs last year, and this year he's just about on that pace. That's a nice total, but he used to be a 35-40 HR hitter. (Yes I realize he never hit 40 in a season but he had a couple years where only injuries prevented that from happening).
