lol. change the lineup after every loss because it didn't work the previous game. sure.

If I'm not mistaken, everyone hates Theriot anyway and nobody was fond of Soriano batting 2nd.

yeah. and if we used your lineup this game, we still would have lost. the cubs didn't lose because of the lineup, they lost because they couldn't get a hit for the 1st 8 innings.

I didn't see we lost because of the lineup, but obviously Theriot can't leadoff and Soriano can't mentally (not to mention he shouldn't anyway) bat 2nd.

Didn't he say he wanted to bat leadoff? That's what I meant, for whatever reason, he thinks he's a better hitter there. I say BS, but thats Fonz.

soriano would be fine hitting 2nd all year.

Except he'd get a lot less RBIs then he should.

soriano will get less RBI batting 2nd than he would if he hit leadoff? what?

Sorry for the confusion. I am not in favor of him batting leadoff, I just posted the most realistic possible lineup. My ideal lineup would be:

Pie

Kosuke

Lee

Ramirez

Soriano

Soto

DeRosa

Theriot

Although that is assuming Pie makes some big improvements, one being: RUN ON JASON KENDALL.

Maybe we, and by we, I mean Hendry need to accept the fact that we just dont have a leadoff hitter. Brian Roberts and Coco Crisp are still out there, and can probably be obtained. Felix Pie is basically Corey Patterson II. He has all the tools to be the next Rickey Henderon, but he'd rather be the next Barry Bonds. I hope you like needles little guy.

Theriot leading off and Soriano in the 2 hole didn't work... try this:

Soriano

Pie

Lee

Ramirez

Kosuke

Soto

DeRosa

Theriot

P

Not any better.

DeRosa

Fukudome

Lee

Ramirez

Soriano

Soto

Pie

Theriot

Problem is neither Pie nor Theriot can hit.

The Cubs still wouldn't have a leadoff hitter.

Yep, every fast guy has "all of the tools to be the next Rickey Henderson."

Also, Rickey never hit for power. Only bunts and slap-hit singles.

Rickey had power. He had his share of 20+ HR seasons, which was pretty good then. My point is, every speedster isnt going to be a 5 tooler. Some of them need to accept the fact that they only have 2 or 3 tools.

Fukudome is an ideal "leadoff" hitter.

Fukudome

Lee

Soriano

Ramirez

Soto

Pie

DeRosa

Theriot

Done.

That's probably what Piniella will do for the first few weeks of the season, anyways.

I like your line up, it wld work for me. I am ral interested in seeing how Johnson works out but put him in where u have Theriot

i wouldn't mind soriano batting third actually...i really think he should bat 3rd or 5th...either that or put him back at leadoff...

with theriot leading off, essentially soriano is still batting leadoff only the team has already made an out...no dice piniella
