I was axious to see it, but pretty dissapointed in the overall depth of the piece. I was hoping we would here more on his opinion of "clutch", since he has recently altered his view on this topic.

Decent interview, but like GoCubsGo said it wasn't very in depth. It was basically the short version of the Moneyball section on him.

The interview would have been great...3-4 years ago..but James doesn't create the divide now, that he once used to. Interestingly enough, for Costas being James guy, one would think I'd like him better in the booth.

As a matter of fact most of the viewers didn't understand why this former HS phenom/current NBA star was talking about baseball instead of basketball.

Well, to be fair to 60 minutes, the segment was 3rd in the lineup, which is their "human interest" segment. The basic idea is to heap praise on someone for their accomplishments and give everyone a nice "feel good" story. I think they accomplished that -- they focused on his former life as a security guard, put a "rags to riches" spin on it. Made everyone feel good. They rarely go into technical details in one of these segments, so I doubt Morley really prepped himself for that side of the story.

On a related note, Bill James says the first player he'd put in the HOF right now that isn't currently in there would be Santo.
