will there be a chat?

Feh, lets all use the game thread so it's recorded for prosperity! It's pretty much like a chat room in here anyways.

Isn't that supposed to be posterity...... or posterior..... or something ??

Wow, lots of people out there already, 3 hours before gametime.

Sure looks like Opening Day at Wrigley to me

You know, I've never been to an opening day. I'll have to make a point of it some year.

i've been to one. I think it was about 25 degrees and Frank Castillo was the pitcher (against the Padres maybe? I'll have to look it up on Baseball Reference)

EDIT: I think it was 1996 w/ Jaime Navarro toeing the rubber

Yeap. That's why I've never been. The weather is almost always going to be cold this time of year. One of these years I'll tough it out.

Actually if it does make it up to 50+ degrees today it'll be on the warmer side for opening days.

It should start raining in the next 30 minutes or so and probably won't be out of here until around the scheduled start time or a little later. The back end will probably produce thunderstorms, as well.

So while it'll be wet, the real threat to whether or not they play today is what's currently in central Missouri. Let's hope it stays south.

It's supposed to make it up to the 60's today. Would be the warmest opening day since 1992. We'll see. I wonder if Skilling is still standing by that great forecast he made in today's Trib.

The year that the weather doesn't blow on opening day is the year we'll win the World Series.

I guess this isn't the year.

Accuweather says high of 54 degrees, that's what I was referencing. Hopefully the T-storms won't blanket the entire area and Wrigley will get lucky.

Right now it's barely raining here, but humid as all hell.

Yeah, the one that will hit right now should go away soon, but that nasty cell moving over Missouri might just end it...
