To the best on my knowledge, it starts on Opening Day
That's correct. I think mlb.tv may have some spring games, but not Extra Innings.

i'm not doing it this year. i like the idea a lot, but it blacks out the cubs, twins, brewers and cardinals. if i had to rank the top four teams i'd want to watch in a given year, those four teams would typically be toward the top.

i wonder if i could try and talk them into changing my blackout area or something. i'm assuming they'll call to see if i want to do it again.

What about that MLB channel that DirecTV is supposed to be putting together? When is that supposed to happen?

The sure-to-be glorious debut is set for 2009.

Anyone heard what the price tag will be this year?

I am pretty sure it is $179 or add supefan for another $50

Yeah, the "Early Bird" rate is ONLY 4 installments of $44 and change. They keep jacking it up each season. Wonder how they justify the big increase this year?

I got it for like $109 last year....but that was because I also have my phone and internet service with my cable company so they gave additional discounts for that...

Today's game is actually on MLB.tv. I wish they would give you a free preview of it though, because it was terrible last year and I don't feel like wasting that much money again unless they improved it.

Did you get regular MLB.tv or the MLB.tv premium? I got premium last year and was really happy with it. The quality is about twice as good as regular. I think for $5 extra a month its worth it.

If you have the sports channels you will be able to watch the Spring Training games. They are not blacked out like regular season games. I watched the game yesterday on Comcast SportsNet Chicago in HD!
