I say let him:

 

Kosuke Fukudome said Wednesday that he's hoping to steal 15-20 bases this season.

 

Fukudome never stole more than 13 bases in Japan, reaching double digits just three times in nine seasons, but the Chicago Tribune suggests that he didn't have many running opportunities because middle-of-the-order hitters are rarely given the green light in Japan. We're skeptical, but even 8-10 steals would give him a nice value boost.

stealing bases by itself isn't bad. stealing bases and getting caught 30% of the time is bad.

Exactly. That's what makes Juan Pierre one of the most useless players in the sport.

15-20 is the goal? Doesn't sound like he's going to be overally aggressive.

well, better than Zambrano predicting 110-120 wins.... :D
