I hope I have enough room on the DVR for all of it!

Thanks for the heads up.

I may have to subscribe to DirecTV's Sports Pack so I can watch this. I can always cancel after a month, so it's probably worth it.

---Yeah my thoughts exactly. Went to the store the other day and bought a package of VHS tapes to record the entire day. NC subscribing to CSN, is well worth it. They are so far and above WGN, it isn't funny.

Dang, and I remember where I was too when I heard.

I was in the bathrooom brushing my teeth with my knee all wrapped up from surgery the day before.

You know, come to think of it I had knee surgery twice in 1998. The day after my first one Harry died, and the day after my second one Brant Brown dropped the ball in Milwaukee.

I'm looking at another one this year. :(

Man, what a disappointment. I feared this might happen. I had 18 hours of VHS tapes on hand to record CSN's Tribute to Harry Caray... then I discover that CSN is only available, to viewers in the Chicago area. When CSN was rebroadcasting Cub games from last season, I was bummed out then too, when I found out I couldn't watch these games. I have their phone number around here somewhere, I think I'll call them and complain (Direct TV gave it to me). If any of you are taping today's programs, or if you haved taped the re-broadcast of Cub games, shown on Comcast----I would be more than happy to pay you for your efforts.

Okay Vance...but I thought I already did. I'll call DirectTV right now and see what's up. Thanks Vance.

--- I do appreciate the info Vance but just so everybody knows, you can still have purchased the sports package from Direct TV, but if (in this case) Comcast Sports Net Chicago decides to black out the programming in your viewing area...there's nothing you can do about it. Except maybe call CSN and complain 1-(888) 388-4766.

I called the number that Direct TV gave me [1-(888) 388-4766] and it turned out to be a magazine subscription service for Direct TV. Sorry about that. I finally got the right number and called 1-(312) 222-6000. I spoke to Greg Bowman in programming. What a great guy, I really appreciate him taking to the time to talk to me. If I understood him correctly, I think the problem lies with MLB, in terms of what they will and will not allow. He told me but I can't remember. I told him about NSBB, and he seemed impressed. Who knows, maybe he'll become a member in the future.

These games are actually pretty sweet. I'm glad they are doing some games that aren't shown often and not just the Sandberg game, '98 SF clincher. Nice job CSN. I bet you Pat Boyle had a hand this manuever.

I've got it on right now!!!

Pretty cool to watch. Even Paul Noce's pop out to short.

If any of you guys are taping today's programming, and would like to make a couple of extra bucks-- I'd be willing to pay you guys for a copy. You know what I'd really like would be a copy of last year's game against the Brewers, when Ramirez homered late in the game...enabling the Cubs to come from behind and beat Milwaukee.

I know it's not the same as being able to watch it on a television, but Cubs.com still has the TV feed for that game available in its entirety for free.

I was at the game they are showing now (Dawson's 3-HR game). I really smacked my shin on the seat in front of me when he hit the third. It hurt like crazy. I was telling my boys about this game (and the shin incident) just the other day.

I remembered it was a very hot and humid day (which has proven to be true). I also remember that Dawson's third went out to right. It will be interesting to see if that memory is correct too.

One of the things I most like about being able to see this game is being able to hear Dewayne Staats again. I thought he was a great announcer. I remember he left the Cubs for the Yankees, but years later he was doing the Rays. I wonder if he regrets ever leaving the Cubs.

Third homer went into the well in left. The pain in your shin may have affected that recollection! :D

Interesting to watch big Lee Smith pick up the save by throwing TWO scoreless innings.

The Chicago Tribune Live show that was dedicated to Harry was just great. I love some of those stories. Hearing the 7th inning stretch just brought back some good memories.

Holy Joe Orsulak..Davey Martinez was thin. Andre looked great in right and the field looked terrible with plenty of barren spots. Seeing Harry call a game, almost like a conductor, should remind us all how low our announcing crews have sunk. Harry brought excitement and had such good chemistry with Steve Stone. Man, he was the best.

Dave Kaplan did his tv show live from Harry's downtown restaurant and it was pretty good. Dutchie is such a lady and very gracious. The joke of the show was having Santo admit 'he was terrible' in his first few years as a radio color guy. Nothing has changed.

I believe that CSN could show one old Cub game per day and we would watch it. The 23-22 Phillies game in 1979 and others come to mind. Watching ARAM..I mean Steve Ontiveros stumble around the bases still makes me cringe.

By the way, did anyone notice that Lee Smith was brought in to start the top of the 8th and finished the game. The guy could pitch.

I remember once WGN rebroadcast the Phillies game, with an edit. Spliced onto the end of the game was footage of Jack Brickhouse calling an Ernie Banks home run, and the Cubs won 24-23. I don't recall specifics because I read abut it as opposed to actually watching it.
