I'm really not too concerned with the opinions of the people at MLB.com. Looking at that list, I can see why.

As it stands right now I have

1. Brewers

2. Cubs

3. Reds

4. Astros

5. Cardinals

6. Pirates

Put the Cubs in front of the Brewers, and that's the one.

I like your confidence :) Yet I think the Brewers match up better than the Cubs do this year. Lots of room for error though considering a lot of this is projecting better seasons from some of the Brewers younger players like Weeks and Gallardo, as well as their bullpen being not pathetic this year (if only average/below average).

Posted

1. Cubs - Should have just enough to overcome the Brew Crew.

2. Brewers - September should be a fun month along the Illinois/Wisconsin border.

3. Astros - Contrary to popular belief, this team will surprise in a week division.

4. Cardinals - How the mighty have fallen to age and injuries.

5. Reds - Too much young talent on this team for Dusty to handle.

6. Pirates - Will this team ever return to the Leyland, Bonds, Bonilla days?

Here is how i see it:

1. Cubs (As of right now they are more rounded )

2. Brewers (Look for better years out of Weeks / Gallardo, look for decline from Braun and Hart)

3. Reds (will suprise some people, not that they are good.)

4. Astros (Decent 1-5 in lineup, terrible everything else )

5. Cardinals (this team is badd....)

6. Pirates (Could sneak up on the cardinals)

1. Cubs (90 wins, really don't believe it will be that close)

2. Astros (83 wins, much better lineup and a better year from the rotation)

3 Brewers (79 wins, back to reallity, sophomore slumps and a below average pen)

4. Reds (74 wins, better but still have several holes)

5. Cards (72 wins, no pitching and take out Albert and they have worst lineup in league too)

6. Pirates (67 wins, they are just not good and won't be for a long time the way they are going)

The Astros have a rotation? I thought it was Roy Oswalt and pray for 4 days of rain.

Here's how I see it:

Contenders - Cubs, Brewers

Competitive - Reds, Astros

Disaster - Cards, Pirates

This doesn't mean of course that the division will finish in that order, just that this would be the most likely outcome, with basically three "tiers" of teams.

The only prohibitive favorite of any NL division would be the Mets.

just like last year, right?

Indeed, just like last year. A good example of why projections are merely that.

I'd be more impressed if it wasn't the exact same order that started this thread.

Damn straight! \:D/

To be honest I don't remember even reading the first post of what MLB.com had. Maybe I should call them for a job.

In another thread I got :blackeye: pretty good for picking the Astros this high. I like being right. :yahoo:
