If Prior pitches a game against us this year similar to his 2nd half in 2003, I predict the board will explode.

He'd have to be back by the beginning of June to do so. The only series between the Cubs and Padres are from May 12-15 at Wrigley and June 2-4 at Petco.

Even if he's back by early June, I doubt he'll be healthy and strong enough to pitch like he did in late 03.

Nice article on Prior in today's Sun-Times.

It makes me miss his potential as a Cub, but at the same time, it's the standard "it'll be a month before he faces hitters" and "I feel better than last year" that we've heard for years.

Personally, I hope he wins 7 cy youngs to shove in the face of every douchebag Cubs fan that called him names for the past 4 years. But that's just me.

I miss him already.

I was kind of looking forward to hoping to seeing him pitch again too.

Sorry, already addressed their response to that.

If Prior comes back in July-earlier it proves that he wasn't trying hard enough with the Cubs to come back from injury.

If Prior comes back in September it proves he's a big smelly vagina.

PEORIA, Ariz. (AP) - Mark Prior didn't experience any pain in his surgically repaired right shoulder during his first spring training workout with the San Diego Padres.

Manager Bud Black said Sunday that all of his active pitchers were injury free, including Prior, who threw 31 pitches during Saturday's workout.

Oh no! People called him names! It must have been really tough for him, especially considering he was earning millions of dollars to play baseball. And for the last two years, he basically was being paid to play catch and hang out on the West Coast. Did he even travel with the team once last year?

Not to target you in particular, but I just don't understand why some people still have such a love affair with Prior. I'm guessing it has to do with a disdain for sportswriters/Hendry. He hated the team, he didn't want to be here, and he never showed any semblance of loyalty to the team, city or fans. Did you root for Ismael Valdes after he left too?

---31 pitches, big deal. If I was a Padres fan, I wouldn't be getting my hopes up, just yet. August will be the soonest that he'll be out there pitching on a consistent basis.

But has he been booby-trapped? Or are failed booby-traps to blame for his injuries?
