So, pretty interesting article on ESPN today about all the Clemens B.S.

I disagree with the thrust of the article, though. There are several obvious lies in Clemens' testimony, and the most important thing is, for all the faults of McNamee, his testimony is corroborated -- ironically, by Clemens' best friend and his wife.

I'm sure nobody will prosecute, because at this point it's so ridiculous I can't imagine everyone doesn't just want this to go away. But as for the HOF, or any kind of legacy? I think it's gone baby, gone.

Ouch

A man who attended the party said he has photographic proof that Roger Clemens attended Jose Canseco's shindig in 1998.

Clemens gave sworn testimony that he wasn't at the party, and Canseco recently backed him up. However, the unnamed man attended the party when he was 11 years old and took photos of his baseball heroes, including Clemens. "We have reason to believe it's reliable evidence," Richard Emery, lawyer for Brian McNamee, told the Daily News. "We believe there's photographic evidence that shows Clemens was at a party he says he wasn't at."

What are we learning from all of this?

#1. It becomes harder and harder to lie in the age of information and technology.

#2. Lying gets you nowhere but into an even deeper hole.

This is really the smoking gun though that, assuming it pans out, really ends Rogers case. If he was lying about this, why should anyone believe a word on anything else?

And at least Canseco has a little wiggle room. It was his party and was probably a big party. He could have honestly forgotten Roger was there (though something tells me a big stack of 100's probably bought that failure of memory, but that's mostly due to my feelings on Jose). Kind of hard for Roger to explain why he forgot he was at the party.

What is an 11 year old doing at that party, anyway? Weird.

Apparently the party was more of the "family get-together" variety -- although that in and of itself seems weird when its Canseco.
