With the Roberts stuff possibly off, and Gallagher looking like he'll be part of the major league team more than the minor league team, I thought i'd put this in baseball discussions rather than the minors (where I already mentioned it a few days back). According to BA, and now Cubs.com, Gallagher has dropped 25 lbs.

Pitcher Sean Gallagher dropped 25 pounds this winter. He had his meals delivered every day, using the same company that Kerry Wood used. ...

Sean's dad also said he was clocked pretty high on the radar gun the AFL, so things are really looking up for him.

I look forward to seeing what he does if he's given a consistent rotation spot rather than relief outings of varying lengths every few days or so.

Congrats to Gallagher, there was some concerns about his weight and he's shown the work ethic to eliminate them.

As I mentioned in a diff. thread, hopefully that hard work gets rewarded this Spring into Summer.

Hell, this news alone makes me want him to be off limits in any Roberts deal.

Find us a better SS with a package deal Jim. Keep this Sean. And I'd like to keep Marshall too if he'll actually get a chance.

I wonder if they have the balls to let Marquis pitch himself out of the rotation in Spring Training.

You really got to hand it to Sean for his work ethic. I remember a couple years ago when somebody (I think his Dad) was posting that Sean was working out real hard over the winter and added velocity to his FB, which at the time was sitting at 88-91 range. Sure enough, when ST started he was throwing 92+ consistently. Now we are hearing that he was hitting 96 in the AFL.

After reading this today, I quickly researched him today, and if his fastball is getting up to 96, I do not want to give him up for Roberts, escpically with Cedeno and Marshall included.

I don't think he's been hitting 96 regularly, just that he's been able to touch it on occasion. If he can sit in the 92-94 range I'd be pretty happy with that.
