Looking over that roster, the most recognizeable name there is Bobby Crosby. That is not a good looking team by any stretch of the imagination. At least KC is beginning to try to put together a major league caliber team.

They are tanking 2008, and looking at back to back top 12 draft picks as they head to their new stadium. I wonder if the owners will have any interest in paying for that top talent, or if they are going to have to only go after signable guys.

It could be the motherload. I doubt they'd trade the face of the team but wow, he could bring in a lot of talent.

I think it's obvious that the A's will trade anything for the right price. I don't think Beane cares about the face of a 70 win team.

Chavez is a good defender and at his 2005-2006 level of performance (.280 EqA) is a valuable player, but he hasn't been elite since 2004 and is coming off a .306 OBP in a year where he had both labrum and back surgery. And he's owed $34 million over the next three years. Beane would pull the trigger on that trade before Colletti finished his first sentence.

i fully expect the A's to win at least 75 or 76 games next year. The Royals? not so much.
