I think Romney wins.

Fox News is so far up his ass it is pitiful. I've been watching a lot of Fox News to get an idea of who the behind the scene money wants to win and it clearly is Mit. They did the same sort of thing with W 7 years ago.

A Romney win is good for liberals because he has little chance of winning the general, even against Hillary.

My feeling, which should be taken with a big ol' grain of salt (I never feel informed enough about these things), is that Huckabee will win in Iowa, but won't come close to actually winning the nomination.

I would say that Huckabee is the only GOP candidate that would lose to HC. I believe the GOP is rooting for Hillary and the Dems are rooting for Huck. Two rubes from Arkansas, one slicker than the other.

It's because FauxNews is in cahoots with The National Review, which is a neo-con rag, and they've endorsed Romney, so it's no shock that FoxNews would be in love with him.

Can someone please give me a non-Wikipedia / non-DU / non-sarcastic / non-BDS definition of neo-con?

my understanding of the biggest differences between neo-cons and classical conservatives are three major things:

(a) size of government - neo-cons place much less importance on restricting the size of the federal government than do classical conservatives.

(b) morals/religion - more libertarian-type conservatives think that the government should generally stay out of the field of morals and religion; neo-cons believe in stuff like faith-based initiatives and stricter policies/enforcement by the FCC

© U.S. involvement in foreign affairs - a lot of conservatives think the U.S. should generally stay out of foreign entanglements unless it is absolutely necessary; neo-cons believe in the advancement of democracy and the expansion of U.S. influence on world affairs.

Thanks TS. The way I hear it used by the left (disgustedly, for the most part) makes me think they believe it is "traditional conservative, but with harder-core warmongering tendencies".

There is nothing about neo-cons that is traditional conservative.

neo-cons believe in the advancement of democracy and the expansion of U.S. influence on world affairs.

What are they planning to do with foreign order?

Actually their newest dastardly plan will go into effect soon. The U.S. has harnessed the energies of evil corporate executives from Big Oil, Big Medicine, and Big Burger Flippers in this effort. On a yet-to-be-determined D-Day, President Bush will punch The Code into The Football, unleashing our nuclear wrath upon the gay baby seals of Antarctica. All in the name of Jesus Christ.

Pretty good definition with the exception of the [a]. The size of the government is implicit in their goals. Reducing its size would be anathema to their agenda. Neo-cons are new conservatives, meaning, they used to be big government liberals, who got old and crabby yet remained ambitious in their world-view. So it's not that they place less emphasis on the size of the government, it's that they place no emphasis on the size of the government. It's remarkably similar to fascism in execution.
