Another update:

 

Just spoke with my guy, please consider take this with a grain of salt. The other team we were talking with about Roberts is not including names that we were looking for, please don't ask who the other team was because I didn't ask, nor do I care. Now with that said Brian Roberts will probably be a Cub by the end of the day according to my guy. AM has been on the phone with the Cubs and apparently he is going to accept their offer. I asked him if the deal is "done", and he said " it will be". Please keep in mind as good as this sounds as being a "done deal", I have seen things this close change at the last minute. With that said, IT DOES APPEAR BRIAN ROBERTS TO THE CUBS IS IMMINENT.

 

For some reason I'm picturing a guy laughing as he's making this stuff up.

I haven't actually been to their site, so pardon my stupidity. But, if these "Insider's" were purposely duping Cub fans visiting the site, wouldn't they also be duping their own fellow fans and tearing down any future credibility among those fellow fans?

I've been reading their site for a while now. The insiders only give what they have heard from their "sources". It's not to say they can't be wrong or that things don't change from one minute to the next. They have been right with most of the stuff I have looked at over there. Most of the posters not only trust them but defend them so I don't think they would be pulling chains. Just my opinion.

I've heard from two people with ties to the Orioles who say the club isn't close to finalizing a trade involving Brian Roberts and no announcement is forthcoming. They're puzzled by the rumors that it's done. And they don't want the perception out there to be that it almost happened and then fell apart at the last instant.

 

So there you have it. Roberts could become a Cub in the future, but it won't be today. And it sure doesn't sound like it'll be tomorrow, either. Or the next day.

Actually they seem worried that Belkast's source may have been outed. As in, perhaps the O's had a suspicion of who the leak was and tested it.

Guys- I just got busted! My guy has read this board today and figured out my handle name. As of right now- I am no longer a insider. I hope things will cool down in the next couple of days but I will not be hearing anything else. I figured this would eventually happen and I guess I should have been more careful in my posts'. Hopefully I can get back into good standing sometime soon.
