There's no way that happens. Cabrera plays the most important position very effectively. They will try to trade Crede because of the uncertainty of his back and they have Fields to play 3B. Uribe will either move to 2B or be traded.

At first my reaction was "wow, what a lopsided trade for the Angels", but upon reflection I think it's more even than it sounds.

 

Garland isn't that great, and Cabrera will be relatively cheap due to age.

This could benefit the Cubs! With Cabrera, the Sox no longer need Uribe, but they do need some pitching. Let's see. . . Hill and Marshall for Uribe! The Sox get a couple of quality rotation arms and the Cubs fill a void by getting another middle infielder!

I think that the Angels got Garland so that they could include one or two of Weaver,Santana, or Saunders in a trade for Cabrera.

Why would they trade Cabrera for Garland, then trade to get Cabrera right back again?
