The building looks awesome. I remember being there back when the Red Sox came into town and and someone saying where it was going to be etc. And then going back this last summer and seeing all the work that has been done.

I'd live there in a heartbeat if my wife would go for it lol. Or any condo downtown for that matter.

I could see Trump going out and getting his name in the media about it just to strike up more interest in his Tower downtown. He just throws the name around to attact more people in his other projects.

And anyways, didn't all of the groups have to submit paper work by now that were interested?

Cheapest place that's on the market in the tower is almost $800k. For a 710 square foot studio.

Oh, and I lied a bit earlier when i said it was 60% done. It's just a tad shorter than the IBM building right now, and the IBM building is something like 47 stories. The Trump Tower is supposed to be 92. So it's somewhere around 50% of max height.

How does that compare to other condo highrises downtown? I've always been curious what kind of prices they were.

wayyyy higher. I'd say the average downtown new construction highrise one bedroom is $300-325k-ish

Given the credit crunch, Trump Tower is going to have some problems selling off and leasing those condos to prospective residents.

I could see him buying the Cubs and using them as a marketing tool for Trump Tower. If you could get season's tickets for signing a lease, that'd make living there mighty tempting!

So you're saying they are going to build a baseball field on top of the tower....pure genius!

Hey, it worked for the Burj Al Arab in Dubai with a tennis court.

Wow, Back...back, back and the ball....and the Outfielder are gone!

Yeah, I don't see any serious fencing on that thing either. Gives me the willies just thinking about it. You better be *real* sure where the baseline is.

Those skyscraper parachuters are probably salivating though.

Wouldn't it be great if Selig put word in with Trump that he wouldn't be confirmed, and then Trump came out in the press and attacked him?

"The thing about this Selig character, he's a LOSER. He's lost in everything he's ever tried to do. Total failure."

 Priceless.

Trump and Cuban are going to get into a big feud over who should own it, and we're still going to get stuck with Bud's chosen boy Canning :x

That tennis court is definitely real. Didn't two pros play a match there recently? Dubai looks like an amazing place. I'd love to visit there someday.

Yeah, Federer and Agassi played there a few years ago.

And there is fencing around the court.

Still, it feels like one little breeze can blow you right off.

You could trip over that thing!

No real "fence" it seems.

I think that is normally the helicopter pad, they put the court on there for special occasions. I believe that Tiger Woods also did some driving practice off of the pad.

Good call.

I'd be all for an 18 hole course which involved hitting a ball from skyscraper to skyscraper.

That'd be the greatest golf course ever.

It'd be rough on my slice.

Higher than that. Even old, crappy Marina Tower is over 250K.

This sort of makes sense since Trump is building a tower right in downtown Chicago (or is it finished now??)

If Trump and Cuban get into it, there's going to be entertainment like you cannot believe.

not finished. They're at about 60% of max height

It's amazing how fast that building is going up.

I see this is going to be quite the circus with the sale of the team. It'd be great if the Tribune got to it already.

doh
