It says that the Orioles are looking to trade Miguel Tejada. The article said that they are hoping "a team thinks he can play third base". Has Tejada's range/skills diminished that much? Between Tejada and Bedard, who do you think the Cubs would have the most interest in? And then of course the most important question, what does it take to get either one of these players?

I'd offer Hill, Marmol, Patterson, Cedeno, and Veal for both. But I think they could easily do much better with other teams if they wanted to try a package deal.

I love Bedard enough to where I would look past Tejada and move towards him. They will want Pie unless they simply don't ever want another CF from the Cubs.

Zambrano

Lilly

Bedard

Hill

would be flatout exciting. You could move Marshall and pretty much every other pitching prospect towards Atlanta for Renteria after that.

Imagine if a healthy Prior actually came back with that rotation.

You honestly think they wouldn't want Marshall or Hill (especially the latter) as part of a deal for Bedard? How exactly would you obtain him?

Nitpick, but Bedard would easily be at least our #2....He might be better than Zambrano.

Z,

Bedard

Lilly

Hill

and a miraculous return by Prior

Holy crap.

not only would they likely require Hill and/or Marshall, why on earth would you have Lilly as your hypothetical #2? You do realize that Bedard performed better than Lilly, in the AL East, right?

I wasn't ranking, but I do have a small fear about Bedard's health. They can have Marshall, Pie, and EPatt.

Why does everyone want to trade away the farm for players? I would never send Marmol or Hill

For Bedard and Tejada? Hell yes. Tejada is older, but he fills a HUGE hole very well...and Bedard is one of the best young pitchers in all of baseball. He's very likely better than Zamrano in the long run. And Marmol is awesome, but he's a reliever. This would definitely be trading up.

Again people don't seem to realize how good Bedard is, possibly including Andy MacPhail.

The name heard most is lefty Erik Bedard. The feeling is the Orioles have enough starting pitching and need everyday players.

The Orioles ran Steve Trachsel and Victor Zambrano out there this year as starters. But yeah, they're set on starters. I went to baseballreference to double check their pitching(It is terrible, especially when Guthrie regresses) But they are right, their position players are terrible too. Terrible and old. They're gonna be hurting for a long time.

maybe they're confusing bedard and daniel cabrera again, i do that sometimes, all those AL east non-boston/new york players seem the same to me

I dont think the Cubs have enough to get Bedard. I am sure someone else with more talent is going to outbid the Cubs.

if the angels really wanted him they could get him...so could the rangers...

i believe we are all living in pipe dream world with these bedard and a-rod sweepstakes wishes

Sounds like they're baiting a certain New York team.

clearly baltimore's problem the past few seasons is an overabundance of crappy starting pitchers.

Slightly tweak it and I think you're right...though I'm not sure how trading Bedard helps them address that particular problem. But if Andy thinks the best way to improve the Orioles is trading one of the best pitchers in baseball, I'm more than happy to oblige.

I'd take Cabrera for Marquis. If he ever figures it out he could be really good.

Sorry, I had a vision that Prior (and Jones) would be going to Cincy in the Griffey deal. After all, he had his best year thanks to Dusty's skillful managing techniques.

I agree, he still has the stuff.

Well, they'd likely want at least a proven young starter and a good to great pitching prospect in return.
