just tell your hitters to choke up with 2 strikes and try foul off as many pitches as they can. once you've eclipsed the 10 pitch mark, swing away.

this is the same strategy that ruined our young pitchers. why isn't it employed on pitchers that arent't cubs?

Hmm, driving up pitch counts in order to burn through the pitcher... I think you might be on to something. Your specific plan seems easier said than done though, no matter how genius it is.

and then he could write a book.

Becket is now in the Greg Maddox zone with the umpireshe is getting those outside calls on a consistant basis.

which is basically one of the reasons in moneyball. middle relievers are middle relievers because (i think this is the quote): "Theyre too [explicit] to be [explicit] starters. " Drive up the starters pitch count to either break em or get them out of the game

That is some hard hitting analysis right there.

Way back in 2003 the Cubs had the young guns that were suppose to be the dominate arms for the rest of the decade while Florida's were just young guys until they meet in a playoff game. Things turned 180 degrees after that. Aye, a sad time indeed.

This is similar to what I've always said would be a winning strategy in baseketball (particularly college). Get the other team's starting big men to commit fouls (by driving the pain), forcing the team to put in their backup big men (who usually suck) or to make their starting big men play slack defense. Similarly to baseball its not incredibly easy to draw a foul (or fould off every pitch), but its not that hard either. Sometimes you might get blocked (or swing through a pitch), but you've got the # of attempts on your side as long as you stick to the strategy.

Personally, I'd rather have shallow analysis from JuCo failures.

Another solid post by the milk boy.

You and your entire crew are becoming really annoying with this crap. Its a freaking message board. You guys take this stuff to the extreme.

clearly the way to beat him is to download a gif of his windup and search for flawzzzz

Sarcasm. I love it!

Where are your other boys and girls at?

I'm waiting to see if you have an actual counter to Sulley's post, or if you just disagreed for the sake of disagreement/hating on Sulley.

You said it was "hard hitting analysis". Clearly sarcasm. Why don't you enlighten us with how you think Beckett should be beaten?

How hard is it to follow instructions?

Woa, someone beat me to locking the thread.
