10 straight wins for Indiana! \:D/

you gotta admit that brock got hacked there at the end...what a joke.

I've been watching Big Ten basketball for 20 years. I know our refs suck...it's just a fact of life.

they suck even more in bloomington.

I dont know which was better the non intentional foul while getting bitch slapped in the open court, or the phantom call on Meachem when IU missed the layup on the break.

That call on Meachem was a phantom call, but that one worked to the benefit of Illinois. Gordon tipped the ball in but that was waved off. Gordon then made 1 of 2 at the line.

Meh, if I remember right the other Illini defender down there stopped when he heard the whistle, so without the whistle who knows what happens. My point still remains about the absolute joke of officiating in the Big Ten.

I am 100% with you my man. Just quit acting like this only happens in Bloomington. It happens in East Lansing, Columbus, Madison, etc.

I don't mind Weber not getting along with Sampson, no big deal, they shook hands at the end of the game.

But...

To not follow through the line and at least give the IU players a quick handshake was dumb. I'd even understand if he kicked Gordon in the balls, but no reason to just turn your back on the other team.

I suspect I'll get a lecture on this, but oh well.

That game went just about how I thought it would really.

I think he went too far to shake Kelvin's hand.

Again, ignore Sampson if you want. Is it asking too much to give a half-hearted walk through the rest of the line?

If he is the bastion of ethics, then be the bigger man and act like it.

Mike Tisdale has impressed me today.

He pissed off Weber, thus no time in the second half.

I think once he gains some weight Tisdale could be a pretty damn good center. Right now he plays good D when hes not getting whistled for a foul, and he showed some pretty good touch on the offensive side. Honestly, I liked what I seen from the Illini today for the most part. If we could hit free throws, this season wouldnt be looking as bad.

I hate what I see. Why the hell wasn't Tisdale playing at all in the second half? Brian Randle awesome three there at the end, just awesome. Great look. Oh and for as good as the offense looked today with DMac running it, don't worry Chester will be back to gobble up 38 minutes next game. Bruce Weber needs to go. Especially after shaking that clown's hand.

Agreed on Tisdale. There is noway in hell that Weber called for Randle to take that shot though, just noway. Im hoping(praying) after seeing how "well" the Illini ran the offense today, that Weber rethinks Fraziers playing time.

I will say this, Indiana is not one of the top 10 teams in the nation, and if they are, college basketball is really down. The Illini showed today with far inferior players how to beat Indiana. If Indiana were to play a Memphis, UCLA, KU, they would get manhandled.

I think, think he always only shakes the coaches hand though. I could be wrong.

I seem to think you are right. I always remember Weber shaking the other coaches hand, having a little convo, then leaving the floor. Honestly, with the way recruiting violations are today, if Im the opposing coach I stay away from the other teams players. Who knows what kid will say you said something to them.

Did anyone see when Brock called Gordon a female dog? Lol. Calvin played pretty well today.

Ha I missed that, but yea Calvin did play pretty well. Again if U of I makes free throws we win this game.

Eh, we should have gotten a better look anyways. McCamey or Meachum has to shoot the three at the end. Brian Randle is a waste.

IU certainly didn't play like a top 10 team today. I wouldn't write them off that easily though. Bassett saved their butt today, he wasn't even supposed to play. He has been battling bone chips in his ankle and needs surgery. Ratliff has been out for most of the year due to his own stupidity (literally).

I think if they can get everybody on the same page in the backcourt they can still be tough. It is a guards game these days, and DJ White can hold his own down low.

Do I think they are on the level of UNC, KU, Memphis? No way. But just because they played below potential today doesn't mean they will in March. It is still January.

We shall see.

Right, plus Sampson has a track record of having his teams play better in the postseason than they did in the regular season. Oh wait....

from what i've seen of them and the other teams you've mentioned, i would have to agree.

I don't think Indiana is top four in the Atlantic 10. No, I am not joking. Dayton is good, poor Trent Meachem. He has to be kicking himself for leaving them.

I didn't predict anything. Just mentioned that its foolish to saw how IU will do 2 months from now based on one game in the mid January.

Im not basing it off this one game. Im basing it off the 3-4 games Ive seen of them, and the games Ive seen Memphis, KU, UNC, Georgetown, etcc. I dont think they have the talent to match up with these teams.

And we've already seen Lickliter completely man handle Sampson in the coaching department, just imagine what the coaches of the teams I listed will do with him.

Lickliter is a good coach. But if Sampson was manhandled by him what did Lickliter do to Izzo?

I know IU fans are in the minority around here, thats fine. I'm not expecting you guys to predict greatness for IU, hell, I'm not even doing that.

I do think they are better than you are giving them credit for. I'm just glad they don't play Duquense, right Illiniguy?

Lol, well I was thinking Rhode Island, Dayton, and Xavier. Also how does Sampson not zone us? Has he been sleeping all year? Or does Bloomington not have the Big Ten Network?

Posted

Not sure about the lack of a zone. Was wondering about that myself.

Yep, we do get the Big10 Network, had to make some room in my trailer for the dish though.

I am glad I don't have it this year. The Big Ten is pretty bad.

?

Having Randle chuck it with 12 seconds left off the inbound. That was terrible.

i posted this after gordon's pass down low got tipped back out for a 3

Oh. Yeah, that was infuriating. I don't care either way about either team but I hate when bad plays get rewarded.

If you think that was the play you are crazy. Randle took that on his own. Thats the great senior leadership this team has. Once again [expletive] free throws cost Illinois a game.

Free throws and the fact we can't shoot the ball. I wonder how many games this year we'll have where we go 6+ minutes without a FG?

my guess is all of them.

Before the season, you thought it was "absurd" that Gordon would make first team all Big Ten, and that Sampson would "kill" Gordon like he does all his talented players (despite not having really coached any). I don't think IU is a top-5 team, but they're better than they showed today. I thought today would be tough. Regardless, I'm not putting much faith in your predictions regarding IU.

Illinois once again proves a tough matchup for IU. I think it has a lot to do with Pruitt, who with his size matches up and basically neutralizes DJ White. Weber is also a very good coach.
