okay this game/series/season is over

Yup.

Actually, it was over when the Red Sox won game 5 of the last series.

Why does Jeff Francis always look worried?

Have you seen this Red Sox lineup? Id look worried also lol

someone (mike&mike or steve phillips) was saying that the Rockies' lineup is deeper than the Red Sox... I laughed. Show me how the Rocks can beat a 1-7 of pedroia, youk, ortiz, manny, lowell, varitek, drew. And Ellsbury in the 9-hole? No way the Rockies are as deep.

You two couldn't be more wrong. This game means nothing to the Rockies. They're supposed to lose this game because Beckett is on the mound. Beckett is supposed to be doing exactly what he's in the middle of doing: shutting the Rockies down and winning the game. I think the key game for them is Game 2 and that if they can come out of Boston with a split, they'll be in good shape.

Now, if they lose Game 2 and go back to Colorado down 2-0, then they'll be in trouble. But not right now.

As long as Colorado wins one in Boston, they'll win this series. I don't see Boston being able to win in Coors.

i don't see the rockies being able to win anywhere against the red sox. Play the series on the moon, the red sox will still win

Do you really think any of the Rox other starters can stop the Sox?

Well I don't think the Red Sox are going to score 10 runs on 16 hits through 5 innings every single game. And remember that there is a huge dropoff in the Sox rotation from Beckett to Schilling/Matsuzaka/Lester.

I think the Red Sox are going to win the series but I don't think losing this game is the end of the world for the Rockies. If the Red Sox lost this game, though, I think that would hurt a lot because the Rockies would have beaten Beckett. But obviously that's not going to happen.

Rockies aren't going to out slug the Red Sox. Won't happen.

Like I said, I don't think the Rockies are going to win the series. But this series is far from over and this is just one game. Just because the Red Sox are up 13-1 doesn't mean they get credit for winning more than one game and the margin of victory doesn't carry over from game to game. If the Rockies come out tomorrow night and beat Schilling, tonight's loss will be forgotten and everybody will be talking about how the Rockies split the first two games on the road.

Not to bust your chops or anything, but isn't that pretty much what the Sox have been doing for like the past 3 games straight? Seems like they're pounding out 10+ runs every time out lately.
