Alves says virtually all the tickets are still available, due to a computer system malfunction. He says only several hundred tickets were sold.

 

"Right now we're shutting the system down .... We expect to be online at some point," Alves said.

 

According to Alves, the Colorado Rockies will announce new plans to sell the tickets at some point later Monday afternoon. He says the Web site received 8.5 million hits in the first 90 minutes the system was up and running.

That's a lot of hits in 90 minutes. But does anyone know how that compares to what the Cubs normally see when tickets for the season first go on sale... what about this years NLDS?

I tried for about 45 minutes, and their server was down the whole time. How can they not be prepared for this?

 

Edit: Looks like Paciolan is located in Irvine. I wonder if the fires out there have anything to do with the system crashing.

If Paciolan just used Akamai, like Tickets.com does, this wouldn't have been a problem.

I'm having the same exact problems as yesterday. Pages won't load and the counter sometimes gets to 1 and won't refresh the page.

I have 50-60 windows going on each computer. I have go through all season on the same computer though. It's really weird.
