Any interest in Joe Nathan?

Yeah, I know the Cubs have other needs but Nathan is a stud. What type of package would it take for the Cubs to get him. Check out the article from Ken Rosenthal.

The value for Nathan is high enough that only those who desperately need a good reliever back there could have enough of an improvement with Nathan to make the traded players worth it, and even that's debatable. For a team like the Cubs who simply would be upgrading a strength, the cost in prospects would be too much and could be better used to try to go get a very good guy on offense rather than a great guy in the bullpen.

Want to a pay a short reliever a lot of money, give it to Kerry Wood. And I actually like Nathan, and don't want Kerry back....so, that's saying something.

I dont see the Twins trading Nathan to the Yankees unless Joba is involved.

 

Considering they gave up AJ Pierblowme for him, Liriano, and Bonser. If they could get a great prospect for Nathan now that would be one of the greatest trade turnarounds ever.

The Twins would be looking for a couple good young prospects for Nathan. He's about as good as they come, but I agree our resources should go elsewhere.

Yes, clearly. AJP for any one of those guys would have been a very good deal. For the whole package? Unbelievable.
