I think she's got some apologizing to do. There are plenty of hot chicks out there, and probably several drunk enough to find me attractive.

well okay, i'm just saying that she kinda sucked for busting your chops about it, but maybe she just didn't that you'd be as upset as you are. She at least seemed apologetic in the end. Maybe it can be a mutual apology, sorry we got pissed at each other, let's go eat food and then engage in intimate physical activity.

Plus I just want you to get together with someone so that we can get more stories like the edible body paint story.

Who cares if she's attractive if she's going to act like that?

i guess it just depends how well she knows snood. I could see a girl busting my chops about the Cubs if she didn't know they were really important to me. But yeah, any girl (or any guy for that matter) who knows me well, knows not to give me crap when one of my teams loses in excruciating fashion. If she knew the Cubs were important to snood, then yeah she pretty much sucks.

the thing that made me mad is, I wrote this essay in grad school about baseball and my family and my dad's death. She read it, so she knows i dont [expletive] around when it comes to the cubs, but she came in talking [expletive]. I know she didnt mean any harm, but she should known better. Whatever. Im sure she knows im just pissed. If not, whatever.

Yes, that utter defeat of the Red Sox in 2004 must really sting.

I dont get that about bosox fans. they try so hard to pretend like they're still underdogs fighting this uphill battle against fate. STFU. You won. Your fans are insufferable. I hope you all die.

This is one of the greatest things I've ever read. I have a very good friend who is from Boston and a diehard Sox fan. This describes him perfectly. He is an insufferable "rhymes with stick".

I foolishly left my IM on. This girl from work whos been flirting with me decided to contact me. here's our conversation.

HER: Cubs lost.

ME: I know.

HER: awwww. 4-8. am i rubbing it in?

ME: yes. which is not the right thing to do.

HER: okay then i wont rub in the fact that they got their asses kicked

ME: and "4-8" is not even how baseball posts the score. you're coming off like an idiot.

HER:haha im sorry. ill stop

ME: i'm not joking.

HER:youre talking to a red sox fan here. i know a thing or two about utter defeat

ME: if you can name the red sox starting lineup, go ahead and talk. otherwise, you have no idea.

ME: Hell, give me three players on the roster, and ill be impressed.

HER:i cant do that. but "red sox" is one of the first things i learned to say

ME: ok then stfu. ill talk to you later.

I logged out at that point. Looks like that one's a lost cause.

Is she hot?

actually, yes. she's very attractive.

you got some apologizing to do then... lost your cool, sorry about that, etc.

I think you are playing this correctly. Girls are dumb. She'll want you more for it.

The game in 2004 that Hawkins blew against the Mets, I flipped over my bedside table. It was just a visceral, knee jerk reaction that I didn't think about before hand.

I don't think I've cared enough since to break anything. I just went to sleep after about the 6th inning and fast forwarded through the rest of the game this morning.

This team isn't good enough to get really upset about. This is who they are. They go into teamwide slumps at terrible moments.

I'm pissed, but this is nothing like 03 or even 04 season's end. I've been thinking "anything could happen," just because of the Cardinals last year, but haven't really gotten myself riled up.

I guess I prefer this to 03 when I felt like I was gonna throw up for a few days. If somehow they push it to five games and blow it...then it could get worse.

Doesn't matter if she's hot. Snood just blew any chance he had with that conversation. Stupid women and never forgetting anything. Sure, they might say they forgave you, but 10 years later you're still paying for it.

i feel bad for my girlfriend. when i'm obviously furious about the cubs she tries really hard to cheer me up, but i end up feeling worse because now i'm making her miserable by me being miserable. i know an easy solution would be to watch the games alone, but when things are going well i'm having a blast.

My girlfriend tries to cheer me up when I'm mad about the Cubs, and it just makes me more upset. I feel really bad for her because she doesn't know what to do when I'm like that. She thinks that by being cute and affectionate , I am going to feel better but for some reason it just makes me angrier, and then she gets angry because I brush her off and then I get angry because she gets angry that I'm angry. It's a vicious cycle

I haven't thrown or broke anything. I just decided to watch Always Sunny in Philly after the game got to be 6-2. Much more enjoyable night.

I remember 2003 and how much that hurt. I refuse to let the Cobs make me feel like that again.

This team isn't worth breaking any of my own stuff over.

Feel free to ship me all of the things you all would like broken.

My girlfriend asked me "what's wrong with Lilly?" after the score was 6-2. Then she tried to talk to me for a while. I've told her over and over again to just leave me alone in those situations, but she refuses to listen. Drives me insane.

+1

I started watching the Daily Show, switching back and forth between commercial breaks. Once I realized the Cubs weren't going to pull out on that game, I went to bed.

No sports team is worth breaking my own stuff or yelling at people.

I let them do it to me again in 2004. Won't Get Fooled Again.

Yeah I've got work to do the next day so I'm not going to let a sports team ruin my sleep and thus my entire next day. Not worth it.

Plus come on, we've seen this movie before. It's not like we're inexperienced watching the Cubs blow up. Been there, done that. Wake me when they're close to winning something.

I just went to bed after it hit 6-2. I don't even know how the Cubs got their other 2 runs and frankly, I don't care.

It MIGHT get to game four, but it sure as hell won't go back to Arizona.

I feel differently. If Hill can get a W on Saturday, Big Z will win on Sunday against Owings. Look where that puts us back in AZ. Webb vs Lilly lol

actually, yes. she's very attractive.

Sacrificing the affections of a hot girl because she's clearly a baseball moron.

Now THAT'S Old Style.
